DONE DEAL: Sporting Lisbon just confirmed Rojo is ours whilst Nani is theirs... on loan. Rumours are that the fee is £16.5m and Nani's loan is for the season and we're paying all his wages. If true I think Sporting got the better end of the deal -

This Rojo/Nani deal actually opens the door for the long rumoured di Maria move. As far as natural winger go we now only have Young, Januzaj, Valencia and Zaha. Then we have Lingard, Mata, Kagawa, Cleverley, Rooney & Welbeck who can play there but are best suited in other positions. Nani didn't exactly add anything to that list and we always needed new wingers but this deal leaves us even weaker there.

Am I right in thinking he only signed a new deal last summer? You can bet he's on upwards of £120k a week.
Looks like it's not just signing players you struggle with, it's getting rid of them too. -

Looks like it's not just signing players you struggle with, it's getting rid of them too.
We've always been shit at selling players. Aside from Ronaldo the last decent enough price we got for a player was that £25m for Becks in 03. It's very rare that we sell someone for over £10m. -

So, Ancelotti has today confirmed that di Maria has asked to leave & rejected a new contract offer. Khedira has also rejected a new contract offer but has not asked to leave. so what we know:
- United & PSG linked, PSG have issues due to FFP, deal pretty much goes nowhere.
- LvG publicly states his admiration for di Maria and says he'd like to sign him.
- Woodward publicly says world class players still want to join United and we have a lot of money to spend. "Watch this space" says Ed.
- Ancelotti confirms di Maria wants to leave.
To put it short, if we don't sign di Maria then I lose all hope for Mr Woodward. The guy wants to go, LvG wants him and Ed says we have money to burn. No excuses. - United & PSG linked, PSG have issues due to FFP, deal pretty much goes nowhere.

I think there is the assumption in the English media that just because Di MAria say he wants to leave that he will go to Man U. Are PSG not interested? I think they may have trouble signing him outright because they have FFP restricitions, but a cheeky loan could be done like with Aurier. -
