  Want to know which console is the most popular in the forums. I have both of them and enjoy playing both of them. The only advantage the Xbox 360 would have is the better online community, which is counteracted by the subscription fees.

  I used to have all consoles, as in before the 'next-gen' ones came out. But now I only really use my Xbox 360. They both tend to have the same games but as you say the xbox online features just hands down beat the ps3 online. I don't mind paying the small subscription fee for the much better interface.

  i think without being all fanboy about it, the xbox is my fave, but i don't think you can really say one is the best as what each person looks for is going to be different and i think each console has it's + and it's - points
  
  for example, the 360's online is far better, but the ps3's online is free.
  they both have their own exclusive games.
  personally i prefer the 360's controller over the ps3 but that's personal preference.
  also the 360 is cheaper, but then you do get a blu ray player with the ps3.
  
  so as i said i think it really can only be decided by personal preference really as for pretty much every plus point a console has it has a negative and the same for the other
  
  i think possibly the only thing everyone could agree on would be that they are both a million times better than the wii
  
  that being said i don't think i will ever own a ps3 even if money were no object, as i've not played any of the ps3 exclusive games so therefore i don't feel i'm missing out on them, also blu ray holds no appeal whatsoever to me and i've played pretty much every instalment of all of the 360 exclusives so i think i will stay with m$ when the next consoles come out, unless of course the ps4 is something really special to pull me away

  Yeah i'm definately a sony/ps3 person,
  i just think that the ps3 is better made console, due to the 360`s common at least it was for a few years red ring of death problem,
  and the exclusives for the ps3 have always been way more interesting to me as compared to the xbox exclusives.
  
  Plus i don't see all the fuss with what makes the Xbox online worth the money you pay, and i've never had any problems with the psn so i wouldn't pay extra when i can get an excellent online free,
  and on a more practical note i find the design of the dual shock easier to control and use than the xbox one.
  
  But i will agree that both are so much better than the wii,
  i genuinely hate the wii, such a pointless console,
  as humiliateme said above me it's all down to your personal preferences but it would take something very special and attention grabbing for me to get the next ms console and not the ps4,

  see that is one thing that bugs me, is when people bring up the problem some xbox's had with over heating. it was a problem, there's no denying that, but it wasn't as wide spread as a lot of people would have you believe, and also it was quite a long time ago as well. plus the ps3 has had it's share of problems, granted not as well known as the xbox's but it's not perfect either in that sense. for instance i've owned xbox's since they came out and i've never once even come close to having a problem with overheating.
  
  the wii u is just stupid though, for starters the controller everyone's going on about, you only get one per console, and nintendo has no plans to sell it separately either, so you won't be able to use it in the ways most people were wanting to be able to use it, for instance in multiplayer you won't be able to have each player chose items, moves, make decisions etc... on the controller so everyone else can't see or at least only one person will be able to, everyone else will be stuck using the normal controllers, which i'm sure won't end in arguments . and as for people going on about the graphics, i fail to see why nintendo should be celebrated for finally catching upto the ps3 and 360, especially as it will most likely be the worst graphics wise again, once the ps4 and new xbox come out (whenever that happens)

  the problem (or at least the overheating that was ms's fault) was fixed a long, long time ago, plus something a lot of people fail to mention is that if you did have a console that was affected you could send it to ms for free even if it was out of warranty, and they would fix it and give you a new 2 year warranty. however a lot of idiots did try to blame ms for their console overheating when it was their own fault because they'd shoved the console in some tiny hole etc... and blocked up all the fans etc...
  
  i think the thing that does bug me about the ps3 is from seeing my friend who owns one having to go through what feels like constant updates that take forever to do as well, at least the 360 has few fw updates and when they happen they only take a couple mins at most, also when the 360 has a game update you can choose if you want to do it or not, from what i've seen you have no choice on the ps3 and my friend has found himself multiple times putting a game in to play only to be forced to wait while it updates, only to then not have time to actually play! so while the 360 did have a hardware problem that was quickly fixed, the ps3 has software problems so as i said they are both pretty much equal in my eyes and just comes down to personal prefrence

  also i'm quite impressed that no one has mentioned the psn getting hacked yet, that's normally the first thing fanboys bring up on forums with this sort of topic lol

  Yeah there are updates on the ps3, but i've gotten used to them so they don't bother me much anymore, except for those times when i don't have much time and it insists on an update, though you can skip the updates but usually you need them to go online on the games.
  Yeah it's preference and if i'm honest they probably are about equal just different pros and cons to each console.

  Playstation 3 man myself to but as humiliateme says it is down to personal preference with out a doubt as i really do hate the xbox 360 controller find its like a brick lol and also graphic wise sony just nick it
