  no doubt about it, poms have bowled really well. aussies haven't chucked wickets away through stupid shots, been beaten by great bowling.  doesn't look good for Anderson. meanwhile strayas 'oldie' siddle is batting well. he could be a surprise success bowling too. brave choice leaving out starc and hazlewood. one excellent omission-----mark bloody Nicholas.

  Perfectly chilled just a bit of the old sledging, to the mob from down under. Shame we let them get that stand late on but not a bad effort with one bowler down. In hindsight was a risk playing Anderson instead of Archer but England's loss is Sussex's gain so here's to a Shark win later today.

  what happened?? oz 8-122 first innings.  poms should have been at least 250 in front, maybe won by an innings--instead!!! why Bairstow keeping? very average.  roy  should be embarrassed with himself.if things don't go his way---no ticker. 9 wickets down-250 behind, so, Anderson bats, can't even run. what's the point? despite all that, fantastic,gutsy effort straya.

  What a pathetic performance after taking so many early wickets. The 1 day team doesn't transfer well into test matches. And Root is too soft to be captain.

  agree with you john. looks like too much emphasis and hero worshipping has gone toward the white ball brigade. can smash a ball for 6---champion , bat sensibly for over an hour- nah stuff that, too hard. without naming anyone, spelt r.o.y.   b.u.t.l.e.r.  b.a,i.r.s.t.o.w,.    anyway, it's only one test. but please don't drop roy and don't stop booing smith

  An absolute shocker for the umpires. Ten overturned decisions on review, plus another handful that would have been if they had been reviewed.
  Note for the next test - when the Aussies ask for a change of ball, tell them no, use the one you've got.
