  Again making a quick thread as to know what peoples thoughts about the upcoming release Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. For me it looks really good and well made (obviously won't know until release). Just want to know who is getting it and what you think of trailers etc etc.

  yea it definitely looks really well made from all the previews and stuff, it actually gives me the exact same impression i once got from watching the oblivion previews before it came out, but obviously now with just more advanced stuff

  I personally cannot wait for Skyrim to come up. There has not been an Elder Scrolls game that I haven't enjoyed playing. I found Fallout 3 and New Vegas to be fun, but I personally prefer the more mythical and fantasy RPG of the Elder Scrolls series. Hopefully it will live up to its predecessors reputations.

  I`d actually never heard of skyrim, up until recently when i saw the ads appearing on tv,
  looks quite interesting, the ad gives nothing away but it seems like it might be an interesting game, may get it when it goes cheap.

  Skyrim is the fifth games in a series of games under the label 'The Elder Scrolls'. I think they are fantastic games and if you want to see what they are like without the skyrim price tag, get Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Even though Oblivion was released in 2006 it is still one of my favourite games today, one of the best RPG's ever made in my opinion.

  Oh right, probably not a good idea for me to buy it then if it`s the fifth in a series, i wouldn`t have a clue what was going on,
  i do recognise the elder scrolls name though i`ve seen that in shops a few times always wondered if it was worth buying.

  Yeah I personally would say it is worth buying. Although they are all part of a series and the lore of the world and its races is constantly there and being added too. The main story of each individual game is separate, so you don't miss anything from the core gameplay but not playing a previous one if you know what I mean.

  I get what you mean, i remember seeing clips of oblivion and it looked interesting, i may buy it when i get chance just that i have to be alot more selective with what games i buy lately i have less money and games are expensive.

  i dont' know the specific details of skyrim, but if it's anything like oblivion was, like if it's made in the same spirit/style and you're into some serious RPG action, then i think you'll get a lot of play value out of oblivion, bethesda tend to make loooong games where you can really do a LOT of different stuff

  Didn't bethesda also do fallout 3 and new vegas, they were long games too, they were good though,
  infact if the oblivion games are anything like the fallout games i'll probably enjoy them.
