  Must admit that i agree with the sentiment of this new rule, but I think posts should only be rewarded if they further a topic or start a new topic for discussion. How long before people find a way around the word limit? I realise it would take a lot of moderation to actually "award" points based on content, but fear that's the only way to stop it. Well that's my 2 cents worth, look forwards to seeing others opinions. :-)

  i knew some 1 would like that,good post,but all this thread,just completely waste of time,only 4 the selfish 1s of course,its not our right to have points but y give it in the1st place ,take away all points and say b4 u cum in here,u cant get a point unless u write an essay 1st...

  I agree that people will pad out their posts with the counter. However, I think that without the counter you will get padding aswell, but even more useless. If someone sees they are 20 away they might post another useful sentence. If someone doesn't how many characters they have to go it is likely they will ramble on and on until they are certain.

  to be honest i think that it is only right that points are awarded when earned, I myself have posted the odd single word or short sentence answer where the post requires. But I would not feel hard done to if i didn't receive a point. For most of us who post on the forum we would do so even if the points for post system did not exist, so it is not really an issue as far as i see it. Unless i'm mis-understanding 140 characters it not even a line and a half in the quick reply box, so you hardly need to write war and peace to get yourself a point !

  Yeah i really like the points system and think it's great to get free call time for posts and means that i'll be able to call more often since i can't afford to call as much as i'd like and it's a generous perk that isn't on similar channels or sites like babestation etc.
  But as you said most on here would post anyway myself included,
  and yeah 140 characters isn't that many, it just stops people doing one or two word posts for the sake of a point.
