lol i knew this would happen, ManUtd would lose to Southampton, looks like it may be a struggle to get into the top 4

according to the Mirror Jose Mourinho has written a 6 page letter to ManUtd chiefs on how he plans to transform ManUtd back to where they once were, part of me is hoping this letter is the first part of what would be the funniest power point presentation ever!

Must be a real pain since Fergie left and refs arnt so scared to give your boys every thing anymore :D

I will admit that Chelsea deserve much more criticism than Utd though.

I say we keep things as they are. A trip to Old Trafford is a guaranteed 3 points for Southampton these days, long may it continue!

I am usually pretty patient with managers in the short/medium term - I think players don't shoulder enough of the responsibility but.........I'm not quite at the "LVG OUT!!!!!!" frothing at the mouth stage.....but I am getting there.

I can see what he is trying to do - create a northern tiki-taka team - and I know it takes time to do so, especially with players not used to it. But a lot of my criticism has to come down the mood he is creating. Jurgen Klopp's win % at Liverpool is about the same as LVG at United (I was surprised by this, shows how much media bias for/against people effects viewpoint), but he has got people behind him, showing some passion for the club and you can tell the players want to do it for him. With Van Gaal it's not so clear.

This Mourinho rumour is heating up, Paper talk is suggesting LVG is being spoken to about a potential early exit, whilst other papers are claiming they are standing by LVG

Well LVG offered to resign after the Saints game, Ed Woodward told him to go away and think about it. More talks later this week apparently.

Really don't think Mourinho is going to happen. They didn't do it when results were shit over Christmas, and with LVG offering to resign now it'd have been the perfect opportunity to make the change.

Most likely outcome is Giggs until the end of the season I reckon. Results/performances can hardly get much worse, and if he does well they'll be a lot more confident about appointing him long-term. If he's a bit shit, then see what's available in the summer, makes sense.

i dunno if i want Giggs as manager just yet, because if they are playing the way they are currently its almost setting up Giggs for failure although if he did turn it round all credit to him.

I think its a perfect fit for Mourinho to prove how good he is really is, but with only a couple days left of the transfer window etc i dont see it being a massive impact if he were to take over now.

Well this is it. If they were inclined to bring him in then you'd imagine they'd have done it by now.

With Giggs there'll never be an ideal time. The board (or at least a section of it) clearly see him as Fergie's heir but they'll never know for certain unless he goes away and makes a name for himself elsewhere, or they give him a chance.

And if it's not gonna be Mourinho, if it's gonna be an interim boss, then it had just as well be Giggs.
