Rooney, Ferdinand, De Gea, Jones, Smalling, Young, Nani, Ronaldo, Bebe etc. all bought for big money. There is a notion that they grow there own just because of the impact of the class of '92, then they sold Butt, Beckham and P. Neville....its our defence that worries me
Eh? de Gea, Jones, Smalling, Nani, Ronaldo and Bebe were not big buys at all. And are you seriously suggesting we don't bring youth through? Christ. We have one of the most successful academies in England, it's a huge part of our history that started with the Busby Babes. Just because not all of our youth become first team members doesn't mean we don't produce, it means not every player in an academy reaches the very top. Which is the same for every academy. Class of 92's are very, very rare.
If our youth can't make it to our first team they usually go on to do very well at other clubs. There's loads of them in the Prem, Championship etc
Anyway, enough of that. Look at what di Maria did to Germany last night:
Can't wait to see him link up with Falcao!

Except it isn't. We've conceded 3 goals this season. Only City, Stoke, Villa and Swansea have conceded less. And that's with a fuck load of injuries and one case of work permit issues. The sooner this myth goes away the better!

But you have to admit that there is not much experience thes, having lost Rio, Vidic and Evra and replaced them with Smalling, Jones and Blackley. Also, a clean sheet against Burnley when you are starting your £70m assist king is not really something to trumpet about.

Experience doesn't always equal good! Rio and Vidic were liabilities and were picked purely because of their experience last season for instance. Evra was the only one of the old guard who actually still offered something. Losing Rio & Vidic this season hurts only from a nostalgia point of view, Evra is the only one I wish we still had. Besides, how else do you expect players like Jones/Smalling/Blackett/Evans/M.Keane/Shaw to reach their potential if you keep playing 35 year old past-its ahead of them?
And when did I say anything about Burnley? I said that only City, Stoke, Villa & Swansea have conceded less than us this season which highlights just how "bad" our defence is.
Oh, and di Maria cost £60m.
And it's Blackett ;)
I'm not actually a Man U fan, so that will be my excuse.

The report also adds that United executives are readying a £60 million bid for the Portuguese international. Ronaldo currently earns £290,000-per-week at Real Madrid. The report suggests that the additional £10,000 per week could sway the decision.
Paper Round’s view: While Ronaldo has an emotional tie to Old Trafford, to suggest that an extra £10,000-per-week could sway a move back to the Premier League is hyperbole of the highest order. Furthermore, £60 million for a player soon to be 30 is lavish in the extreme and, considering their recent outlay, highly unlikely.
