Last night’s episode showed Joe Garrett being dumped from Love Island after fans voted him off for showing signs of controlling and manipulative behaviour toward Lucie. Alarm bells were ringing when he told Lucie that he didn’t want her hanging around Tommy Fury anymore and said “it’s time to start making friends with the girls.” Bitch please!
But now Joe’s friends and family have come forward and slammed Love Island producers for “unfair editing” and have blamed them for Joe leaving. Here’s what his family had to say:
Quote:After that nailbiting vote, Joe has unfortunately left the Love Island villa. We want to wish the remaining islanders the best of luck in the rest of the programme, especially @lucierosedonlan who Joe genuinely cares for and enjoyed his time with.
Speaking on behalf of Joe’s best friends, we acknowledge Joe will come out to some warranted criticism. However, we deem the majority of it to be unfair and non representative of Joe’s true character.
The producers have the ability to show someone in a particular light, choosing just 45 mins of footage from 24 hours to tell a certain narrative.Joe will know he is coming home to the best family and group of friends about. We are all buzzing to see our boy. But from #thesandwichman…. that’s a wrap.
Here’s what fellow islander Anna Vakili had to say about Joe’s exit:
Quote:I don’t think he was in any way controlling. When you have real feelings for someone, a bit of jealousy is natural and normal. He was nothing but real!
Joe’s mum Rachel is also backing her son and has branded the abuse claims as “sheer rubbish.” She says:
Quote:I know my son and he’s not like how he’s being portrayed. Both myself and his sister are his best friends. He doesn’t emotionally control anyone. That is not my boy.
However, not everyone seems to be taking his family’s word, as the comments and complaints about Joe’s “abusive” behaviour have been coming in thick and fast. There’s been so much heat on Joe that ITV bosses are currently keeping him in a safe house until the backlash dies down. Producers have also cancelled his post-exit interview.
Damn, I can’t help but feel a little sorry for the guy. Yeah he shouldn’t have been jealous and controlling over Lucie’s friendship with Tommy but I feel like that’s something a 22-year-old needs to be taught. I was a crazy jealous bitch as 22 and it took many years and relationships before I realised it’s not the way to go. While I don’t condone Joe’s actions, I also don’t agree with a witch-hunt of a 22-year-old naive boy who still has an awful lot to learn about life and love.
BTW, How fucking smug did Amy look after Joe got booted off. She looked well chuffed to see Lucie upset. What a cunt!

True say about his "abusive" behaviour. Think the internet gets their hands on an issue such as him being a bit controlling but forgets that we aren't all educated in the same walks of life. 20 somethings need to be able to make mistakes because that's how people learn and grow.
To me, he was controlling and showed many red flags for anyone considering a relationship with him but I'm way older and would have likely made similar errors at his age. Thinking that jealousy means you love someone, spending every moment of every day as though you shouldn't have your own identities etc plenty of pitfalls for young people to succumb to when navigating the world of plutonic and sexual relationships. Worse for old Joe is that it's been done in an environment that would cause you to act out of the ordinary by proxy as well a strong incentive to be more competitive, it would be hard for anyone to maintain their normal composure. -

There's been an update about Joe Garrett's exit - he's now out of the ITV safehouse and after watching the episode where he was voted off, he's absolutely fuming with smug Amy Hart and her two-faced actions towards Lucie.
22-year-old sandwich man, Joe, arrived back in the UK after he was dumped from the island and after watching the old episodes, he’s livid with how Amy has acting, saying:
Quote:I thought we got on. If she’s gone back and said other things to other people that would be heartbreaking.
He also explained his jealous and controlling behaviour towards Tommy and Lucie’s friendship:
Quote:It’s hard because on the outside the relationship would build and you would talk frequently and meet once a week. And it was like I had these two days with her and they were so fantastic and we got on so well and then you have the spanner chucked in.
I think the intense nature of it all and when fellow Islanders said stuff to me – it would never bother me normally. But because you are in there and you get told things constantly you are like ‘am I OK with these things’ and I generally was. But you feel that heightened pressure and you have these conversations and you have to address things.
Pretty fair explanation really. Also coupled with the fact that he’s 22 and fairly clueless. I just want that shit-stirring bitch Amy voted off at the first chance we get! In other news, who saw Curtis' reaction to the new bird coming in?! I freakin hope it's his ex!

Love Island had the nation gripped last night and it wasn’t down Maura’s sex pesting or Amy’s muggy face - it was all down to brand new islander, Arabella Chi. The 5’10 stunning model made her entrance by strutting into the villa fully made-up whilst the rest of the islanders were only just waking up, and looking like absolute dogshit.
The dudes were like flies round shit when they first clocked Arabella, especially Anton, who got himself tarted up in record time and then walked out like he’d just rolled out of bed. Smooth move, Anton.
In other news, Yewande is a miserable-faced bore who has been putting in zero effort with Danny. She’s the type of bird who gives you no inclination she likes you, won’t even talk to you but then gets aggy when you flirt with another girl. Get the fuck out! After Arabella chose Danny for a date and the pair got on like a house on fire, Yewande then decides that now was the time to up her game and fight for her man. Bloody typical - bitches only step up when there’s a bit of competition.
I’ve said it from the start that Yewande was dull as fuck. I start drifting off when she starts droning on. I hope Danny sacks her off and cracks on with Arabella. I’d like to say I hope Anton can finally get a look in but sadly he’s just too cheesy...and his mum shaves his ass! -

I don't think it'll happen to be honest. I reckon Love Island producers consider the show above pulling in a girl from the Babeshows. Doesn't help that the likes of Goodwin appear on Jeremy Kyle and the likes of Levi, Leigh Derby, Lacey Lorenzo popping up on Judge Rinder. Doesn't scream pool of talent does it. -

I stand corrected on De la Hoyde but Barton Hanson weren't a babe show girl or was she?.
Also seems love Island are trying to upmarket themselves across the board, no smoking this year have you noticed? They all used to be around the smoking pit but that is no more. Maybe babe channel girls are off the menu too? We'll see, might be eating my words if one pops up shortly.
