  He is the best footballer thats ever live, without question and thier will never be another like him so enjoy every minute of every game he plays! the guy is a genius of epic proportions!

  overall he is the best there ever was because football has come a long way since the days of the old greats and among modern players he is the best of his type. still need to wait until the end of his career to see the full picture, but he really does look very much unlike any other ultra talented player in that he doesn't let his stardom get the better of him so far.
  
  brazilian ronaldo was world player of the year very young, but too much ego and too much partying (and injury of course lol)
  
  i don't think there has been anyone quite like him ever before

  He's obviously one hell of a talent and an amazing player but i don't think you can say whether he's the best ever or not cause whose to say pele, maradona, romario wouldn't have been able to do the same on much better technical fast paced immaculate pitches and with light boots, kits and a ball that moves so much in the air as opposed to the old heavy leathery ones that they played with plus i think cristiano ronaldo is also a close contender right now. Messi probably also needs to win something internationally before people will rank him higher than those players realistically

  Lionel Messi gets my vote, everyone compares him to Maradona, but we don't know how many of those great Maradona performances were under the influence of whatever substances he was taking

  he is the best player on the planet at this moment in time and one the best i seen in my life time ' will he go down as the best ever that remains to be seen but he will go down as one the best ever ' and you have to remember he only 24 look at what he has done upto now and how long he got left to go the guys a rare talent

  Think its impossible to say if hes the vest player ever as its very hard to compare players from different eras. He's definitely the best player in the world now and it's scary to think how young he still is and how he could keep improving.
