I have been working through this latest lockdown ( i am sure you can all imagine how essential i am in the grand scheme of things ) and while i have been in work i am constantly getting "have you heard about X in dept ,,,, their son has covid and are isolating "... or their partner or someone else in their household. and then this is how it works at the workplace.
A is contacted at work to be told someone in his household has covid so he goes home to isolate ( but of course he was not forewarned so has to go to the supermarket first to get 2 weeks supplies )
B who works close to A decides to go get a test the next afternoon. his wife decides she will get a test too and if they are both negative they can go visit granny at the weekend
C who is a manager decided he does not work directly with A and anyway he is a manager so is probably immune and lets face it we all know that if managers take a couple of hours away from work the whole place collapses so C does not get tested. then infects his household who then go to work to infect that workplace
C then infects B the day after he has his test but before his results. B then infects his partner and they both go to visit granny thinking they are negative.
and so this thing goes on.

i have got to give it to the government they are certainly doing well with the vaccinations. the vaccination program has been a shot in the arm ( sic ) for this failing government. the PFIZER vaccine is doing well. lets hope they can keep it up.

anyone notice Dolly Parton used my ' shot in the arm' line the other day. yeah ,. i know she is a big rampant fan and reads my stuff all the time. going back to my Thai chat days, apparently the song 'stand by your man' is an homage to ladyboys.

the Prime Minister says that the UK's success in rolling out the vaccine is down to 'GREED AND CAPITALISM' I think the PM believes that greed and capitalism is the answer to every question. Hhmm lets put it to the test.

why, when it was noticed in europe early devastating outbreaks of COVID did the government not shut the borders - GREED AND CAPITALISM.
why were football games with european cities that were not allowed to have fans in their own countries allowed to come here. - GREED AND CAPITALISM.
why was the Cheltenham race festival allowed to go ahead with 250,000 people in close proximity to each other - GREED AND CAPITALISM
why did our lockdown come weeks after it should have - GREED AND CAPITALISM
why did we not lockdown in November when they knew about a more virulent strain of the virus _ GREED AND CAPITALISM
Why has this country been affected more than any other including . Cuba, Vietnam, China, Thailand. - GREED AND CAPITALISM.
    he may have a point,

It's the answer to all the government's questions.

why are the public sector nurses who performed tirelessly at great personal risk only getting a one percent pay increase ?

    GREED AND CAPITALISM.
it's the answer that just keeps giving.

This government with the leader Boris Johnson claim they are the party for business. Well I agree. At my place of work most people have been furloughed for a time. some for over six months some longer. recently one of them told me that while furloughed he had been approached by the mangagement to come in to work. still be paid his furlough by the governmetn ( thats the tax payer . you and I ) and they would make up the difference with cash-in-hand. they said they were thinking about 'grassing them up' when they looked into it. apparently the penalty for this abuse of furlough ( stealing from us ) is,,,, , , , , , they have to re-pay up to ( UP TO ) 100 % of the money paid. So wait lets think about that. if they are caught they may have to ( or may not ) re-pay the money they stole from the tax payer. and if not caught obviously they get a give of thousands maybe 100s of thousands of pounds from the tax payer. and if you think i am exaggerating just work it out. averate pay 30k . government pays 80% which is 24k per furloughed average employee. it does not take many people in a company to get up to 100k. Anyone think of a section of the community which can rip off the tax payer for this amount with no penalty. No. just the business owners.

Now we have the worry of the Indian variant spreading through Bolton. a town with a high Asian community presumably brought to Bolton by someone visiting family in India. but how did it get here. with the tight lockdown, restrictions on travel with quarantines and tests ? Oh wait, now i remember, after the Indian variant was discovered the PM gave people 5 days to return to the UK before they would need to quarantine. He gave the virus a 5 day hall pass to get to the UK. seriously. when the virus was known to be in Spain he allowed Spanish football fans to bring it here and now this variant was known to be in India he allowed it to come here.

we now have the Indian variant running rampage. so much so that France and Germany have taken England off their list of 'safe' countries to travel to. wait a second 'INDIAN' variant ? Hhhmmm remember when Trump referred to the 'CHINA VIRUS' and he was denounced for being 'racist'. how long before they twig to this and give the variant a new name. Variant formerly known as Indian perhaps.
