  So it's off to Monza this weekend for the last European grand prix of the season. This race has been a fixture in the F1 calendar since 1950, and with it's rich history and thousands of passionate supporters, the 'tifosi', it's a firm favourite.
  
  It's one of the quickest tracks in F1 but also notoriously difficult to overtake on. So much so that 10 of the last 13 races have been won by the driver who started on pole. Strong practice and qualifying sessions are vital.
  
  Lewis Hamilton won last year's race but to repeat that feat he'll need to out-race Sebastien Vettel, who came first last time out at Spa, as well as the the runner-up that day, home favourite Fernando Alonso in the Ferrari.
  
  It should be an intriguing weekend.
  
  The first practice session gets underway at 09:00 tomorrow morning with the second starting at 13:00. Final practice and qualifying on Saturday.
  
  Predictions?

  i think we should expect the similar hamilton-vettel head to head in qualifying. like last time alonso will be quick but not end up on front row and have to make his way through the field.

  I've learnt to read absolutely nothing in to these sessions but that top 5 looks about right, if not necessarily in that order.

  Can't argue with any of that lol... The first practice is all about them wanting to test things out and really has no bearing on the race, although as you say the usual suspects at the top.
  Ferrari will obviously want the win on 'home' ground and Alonso will have a good race if not good qualifying, and it has been a bit of a procession race recently, not the most exciting, so unless there is an almighty cock up in the pits, getting at the head of the grid will be extra important.
  
  
  Also it seems that a 'draft' 2014 race schedule has been leaked... Possibly a race back in Mexico City and expected new Austria and Russia ones, the Mexico one being provisional as the circuit is not ready and up to standard. Sergio Perez though thinks it is unlikely they can get it ready in time!
  Mexico and Russia, bloody hell, the drug lords and mafia will have a great time...

  There were rumours of New Jersey too, overlooking NYC. Also a touch gangster.

  It seems the New Jersey one has been binned for now, I hope Bernie doesn't get himself involved in anything too seedy lol...

  I see Mark Webber has yet another KERS problem! He does seem to get an awful lot of these compared to Vettel? not that I'm casting aspersions or anything...

  Vettel quickest in the second practice, quite a bit 'quickest' in fact. Only four tenths between Webber in 2nd and Button in 9th though.

  Po' po' Mark Webber. Must be awful being him. KERS, Vettel and Horner all conspiring against you, how does he sleep at night?
