  Even then it lasted a couple of seasons and they still looked like challenging , if it had have been prolonged and lasted as long as liverpool dry spell then the loyalty would have been tested. I'm just asking the question how loyal is a person who'd do that to his own brother?

  Eh? It's got feck all to do with Giggs or watching other teams. I just pointed out that Gerrard is hardly "Mr Loyal" as he wanted out when Chelsea originally came calling and only stayed because of an increase in wages. If you want a loyal Liverpool player a better example would be Carragher

  
  What's your problem? He thought about leaving, but in the end, stayed at Liverpool. Did beckham and ronaldo stay loyal to newton heath fc? How many born and bred Salfordians greats have you had in recent years? I can only think of one.

  Why are you bringing United into it? This has nothing to do with United! Though to answer your question, Beckham was forced out by Fergie, he didn't want to go. He was and still is loyal and as for Ronaldo, well obviously he wasn't loyal.
  
  Loyalty is very rare in football, Gerrard unfortunately is not at the level of the likes of Carragher, Neville, Scholes, Giggs etc because of the Chelsea fiasco

If you went another 26 years without winning the league, do you honestly think you could hold on to your best players?

  thanks guys for putting your views,just so stupid spud slagging him off when if he scores in a couple off weeks time,you will be jumping up in the air in joy,so please loyal he is and if you think not thats your problem and right .

  So because I support United i'm not allowed to have a view on Liverpool players? Why are you now bringing Fergie into it? Fact of the matter is, Gerrard wanted to go to Chelsea when they came calling, a rival. This even lead to Liverpool fans burning shirts with his name on it was deemed that blasphemous. And we're not talking about holding on to your best players, we're talking about loyalty and in tbis particular ase we're talking about players who are one club men hence why i've only compared him to the likes of Carragher, Scholes etc. Gerrard is not as loyal as them it's that simple.
  
  Oh, and as for your 26 year barren spell thing, Gerrard told Liverpool he wanted to leave after they won the Champions League in '05.

  I'm not slagging him off, i'm questioning you calling him "Mr Loyal". Me being a United fan has fuck all to do with my view, i'd say exactly the same thing about any 'one club' player if they did what Gerrard did.

  If he left to go to, say, Real Madrid the fans would have still loved him sure. But to go to a direct rival, no Liverpool fan would have let him live it down as the above picture shows. Heck, look at how they treat Torres!

  But anyway, we're going round in circles. I don't think he's loyal, you lot do. Just stop saying it's because i'm a United fan because it's not. He's a fantastic player, that was never in question, I just don't hold him in the same light as Carragher/Neville/Scholes/Giggs/Adams/Maldini etc.
