  I will take 'The Lobster' as an avoid at all costs then, Jesslloydfan. Daddys Home..urgh, what a nausiating, unfunny sack of shit that was..Will Ferrell should know better and Mark Wahlburg, well, he probably doesnt know better lol. The most recent film i couldnt make it to the end of despite not being a truly horrendous offering was called 'Wild Oats'. Had never heard of it prior but saw it online. The film, starring amongst others, Jessica Lagne and Billy Connolly and being billed a comedy drama + with some pretty positive reviews seemed like a fairly safe bet. It may have been and i admit i did chuckle a couple of times but this didnt exceed the realm of being average and just,well, ok / nice..and that aint enough to justify a watch to the end. Killed this film at around the 45 minute mark.

  Noooo @Gym. Whyyyy, i was really looking forward to The Lobster. Perhaps it's an acquired taste thing, because the director, Yorgos Lanthimos' movie Dogtooth was hella good.

  Dont blame me, RandyMarsh..it was Jesslloydfan's review that put me off (only joking' jesslloydfan). Saying that while i have heard of 'Dgtooth' i have never watched it. The most recent film i couldnt make i to the end of was called 'Fender Bender'..(lol, no im being juvenile). Another film, much like the last, a stright to dvd job that had never heard of and took the chance based on a few imdb reviews..really should know better. Slasher serial killer film with an 80's grindhouse feel. The ingredients were there, its just a shame the film was shit hah. 30 minutes or so in and..bye bye.

  It been another frankly shocking wee on the film front and really cant be arsed to bad mouth the tripe i have switched off prematurely that have recorded on sky lol. The most recent film i have downloaded that i couldnt make it to the end of is the christmas themed horror (because those are always good haha) called 'All through the house'. Took a chance despite a complete lack of user reviews and some mid level critic reviews. Personally, despite te copius amounts of gore the film, production and acting were less b movie and more z list. A few inventive deaths but despiite tha, 40 or so minutes in i had to turn this off through boredom.

  The most recent film i couldnt make it anywhere near the end of was the ww2 drama / thriller 'Anthropoid' starring Jaimie Dorman and Cillian Murphy. Had heard some pretty positive things about the film, on paper it sounded pretty interesting (the plot to assassinate hitlers third in command). Even the reviews on imdb were pretty damn good for the most part. Tried to get into the film..left it running for almost an hour. Sadly, to that point, while i wasnt expecting full on action etc..i was atleast hoping for something interesting..and this was DULL with a capital d. For that hour, basically, fuck all happens. Couldnt stomach any more and had to kill the film.

  Another week..and its been another with a seemingly endless stream of shit. The most recent film i couldnt make it to the end of and coincidently really did try to enjoy was 'Captain Fantastic' starring Viggo Mortisen. Was a little wary to begin with given the mixed reviews and the dull sounding subject matter. Turns out really should of listened to those spouting negative comments about the film. Unrelentingly dull and plodding, while i was ready for the basic plot i wasnt ready for just how soul suckingly dull it would be. Gave it 45 minutes..had to kill it then.

  To be fair, i was confident that this was gonna be a prompt switch off from the off but, purely because of what inspired it i felt the need to give it a look. The film in question was 'Rocky Horror Picture Show - Lets do the time warp again'. Was not awareof the films existence until it popped up on the old sky planner. I knew this was gonna be sacralidge of the highest order..and thats the only respect in which it didnt disapoint. A tone down 12 cert as opposed to the originals 18 utilising the original songs performed by a bunch of twats. Of course the failure or success would hinge on Frankenfurter..this time played by, s far as i could tell, an actual transexual, transvestite etc...would look the namme up but really cant be arsed. Granted could sing to a degree but wasnt a patch on Tim Curry..not even close. That said, the legend that is Tim Curry, does appear in the film in the elderly narrator role. I certainly hope he was going for the depressed, bored shitless look and vibe..because thats exactly how he comes across. A fucking traversty of a remake that should be avoided.

  I was watching Steel Sharks yesterday, wasn't so bad, a bit stupid with the Iranian characters and the Russian accents.
  But I had to go for my tea before it ended, so chalk that up as one I never finished.
  The channel it was on was Movies for Men, they don't half ham it up do they? Every ad break it says "You are now watching Military For Men", if I was feeling wimpy when I switched my tv on, well I was so pumped up to shoot my way out of 'Nam by the time I switched, off.........no I wasn't really but it makes a good story ha  ;)

  Ahh, the 'Movies for men' channel..now theres a quality movie channel haha. Sorry that yo didnt enjoy 'Steel Sharks' Parkaner but the name alone sends chills up my spine. This week has been a bloody awful week film wise..6 films downloaded and every single one of them shut off around the half way mark (atrocious even by my standard). While i wasnt holding out too much hope for many of them from the off the biggest dissapointment came from the animated film 'Kubo and the two strings'. I say biggest dissapointment as it was the best sounding and most widely praised of the bunch. Heaped by critical praise online, personally i just found the film to be really dull with only a vaguely interesting plot. Gave the film until approximatly the half way mark but it was putting me to sleep so that was that.

  The most recent film i couldnt make it to the end of smelt a bit iffy from the off and decided too give a chance based purely on others reviews (which were a mixed bag but largely kinda positive). The film in question was the zombie comedy 'Attack of the lederhosen zombies'. From the off it looked as though it had a degree of potential as a care free, foreign zombie themed comedy..sadly, it turned out to be as funny as standng in dog shit. A wasted opportunity which wasnt funny, wasnt overly gory..heck, even the characters were completely unlikeable. Gave this until around the hour mark before shutting it off (there was probably only around 15 minutes of film left but couldnt stomach any more).
