  The most recent film that i could'nt make it anywhere near the end of was a real shame given the creators previous works. The film in question was Aarman's 'Early Man,. All the ingredients were there..except for the humour. It tried bless it but, with the exception of a couple of mild chuckles very early on, this just managed to be uninteresting and boring, pretty devoid of humour and certainly not even close too being in the same league as 'Wallace and Gromit'. 40 or so minutes in this got knocked on the head.

  The most recent film that i couldn't make it anywhere near the en of was the new indie style comedy 'Class Rank'. From what i could gather it was the dry as a bone tale of 2 highly overacheiving students at a school that ranked students wit a placement number based on grades, acheivements etc..with the highest being last and these over acheivers trying to be class ranked no.1. What the film consisted of for the 30 or so minutes i was able to endure it was a couple personality devoid, abnoxious, unfunny teens and there day to day exploits..and that was pretty much it (yawn..i know). Boring, devoid of humour on any level..avoid like the plague.

  The most recent film i couldn't make it any where near the end of was 'Escape Plan 2 : Hades'. The 1st film was actually really good but this sequel sucked on evry conceivable level. Ok, granted it was not of the cinematic release ilk (more squarely a straight to dvd job). That said, Stallone and ol' Dave Bautista do feature in this..so a budget, story and some acting ability would have been nice. Ok,  up to the point we switched off (little over 30 minutes in) there had been a coupleof fight sequences but this was so cheap looking (christ, even the flame effects could have been done better by a child on their home computer). Chuck in the fact that Stallone appears in the film but takes a back seat, the plot is a mess and the the level of acting ability displayed was shocking..even for a film of this ilk. Avoid like your lives depend on it.

  Seem to killing more films prematurly of late than actually watching to the end. The most recent offender was the 'supposedly good' (yeah right) 'Game Night' starring that fella from the horrible bosses movies and Rachel Mcadams. Film basically tells of Mcadams and her partner who are game obsessives who wind up attending another fellas game night that winds up getting more than a little out of hand. For a supposed comedyu though, asides from being very bored, it did not make me laugh once. Made it to around the halfway point, still not even a chuckle so the film had to die. Avoid.

  The most recent film that i couldnt make it anywhere near the end of was both a suprise and not. The film in question was 'Rampage' starring Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. You know the film, the one based on the old school computer game about geneticly enhanced, super sized animals causing destruction and going on, well, a rampage (lol). Something seemed off from the get go..whilst the effects are pretty good..the story, plot, actiing, pace were all way off the mark. When i say the effects were pretty good, up to the point of me falling asleep through utter boredom (little over an hour in) the creature effects were sound enough but one scene involving a crashed helicopter had me in stitches. Looked like someone had thrown an old action man helicopter at a cliff face and chucked a match at it afterwards. Asides from that gaff (the most dubious bit of cgi ive witnessed since Supermans quivering lip in 'Justice League') this was a complete waste of time.

  Another summertime week, another slew of shit films i couldn't make it anywhere near the end of. The most recent offender was the fluffy comedy 'I feel pretty' starring Amy Schumer. To date, i find her perlformances and the films she appears in to, well to be frank, pretty shiot..and this one's no exception. Long story short : overweight woman with confidence issues has a knock to the head, comes round convinced shes absolutely perfect/gorgeous..and thats pretty much the sum of its part. For a comedy, it was not even remotely funny, average perfomances etcc..i don't mind fluff films if they are done well. Unfortunatly, this one was not (hence shutting off after 45 minutes).

  Another most recent film i could not make it any where near the end of was the low key zombie horror 'The night eats itself'. Interesting enough premise..random guy passes out at a party in france, awakes to discover things have gone tits up over night the city (and presumably beyond) has been overrun by flesh eating zombies (the fast kind). The zombies in this are creepily effective..trouble is the guy himself is an uninteresting pleb, the film is beyond slow and up to the point we turned it off, asides from the event itself, not a lot happens. 40 or so minutes in we killed this. I dont mind slow burners..but this was ridiculous.

  This week has not been a good week for films. Have attempted several, all of which have either been prematurely shut off or have bored me to the point of actually putting me to sleep. The most recent one was an odd one in that it started off very strong but then, gradually, the sheen started to wear off, it became very mediocre and eventually sent me to the land of nod little over an hour in. he film in question was the oscar winning and nominated 'I, Tonya' starring Margot Robbie and Alison Janey. Alison Janneys controlling, psycho of a mother was played to perfection and every oscar win and nomination for the performance was deserved. Trouble is, she was the best thing about the film by far. The other cast members put in a decent enough showing but once Janey's mother goes from appearing regually to only very occassionally, and the film is left to everyone ese, it became very mediocre very quick. A shame.

  Its been a corker of a week on te shite film front. The most recent offender which i killed some 30 odd minutes in was the recent remake of 'Overboard'. Replacing Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell for Anna Faris and some mexican guy, switching the roles up so he's the pampered snob. Should have listened to the critics on this one..unfunny with zero chemistry between the leads..basically 30 odd minutes of my life i wont get back. Suggest avoiding like the plague.
