  if you are going down that route then for me it has to be the sega megadrive- you all know im right the best console i've got the most amount of memories playing these games- like streets of rage sonic etc

  I've been playing video games since the Atari 2600 days and although I have fond memories of the old consoles (and I used to play them a lot more!), there's no comparing them to either the Xbox 360 or the PS3, and I think the advances in technology have been great for gaming, e.g.
  - Online gaming
  - High definition graphics and sound
  - Patches and system updates
  - Chatting to mates whilst you play
  - Downloadable demos and content
  
  I played some old Sega games on the PS3 a while back (one of those Megadrive greatest hits compilations) and all it did was tarnish the memory of those games for me - they just kinda sucked compared to what I'm used to now.

  yea exactly playing old games most of the time just tarnishes the memories. it's like when you thought the film kickboxer with jean claude van damme was cool when you were 10, but then you watched it again and regretted it lol

  Depends on what old game you're playing yeah alot of them don't really stand the test of time, but the occasional one does, although more often than not it's best just to avoid it if you don't want to ruin some old memories of some games.

  it depends what you look for in a game really, for instance there's no way any old game can hold up to the graphics of a moden game and the same goes for all the extra features but a lot of the old games actually had better gameplay because a lot of games today worry so much about graphics etc... that often the story, level design etc.. suffers.
  
  also another thing that annoys be with moden games that was never a problem with old games is the whole dlc thing, yes a lot of times it's great and add's to a game but there's just as many games where you get the feeling that you're having to pay extra for something that back before dlc would of just been in the game, for example batman AC and catwoman. if that game had come out before dlc she would have just been in the game but with dlc you buy a game and if you don't have access to live for whatever reason you basically miss out on a part of the game you've paid for. i understand it's a small part and it doesn't detract from the game not having her in it, it's more the principal that i paid for the full game and there for everything should be included on the disc! it's the equivalent of having bough super mario bro's all those years back and then having to go to another shop and pick up a second cart with luigi on it

  That is true, the dlc thing does occasionaly seem like a rip off like the catwoman thing in arkham city, even the robin and nightwing add ons while good were obviously developed at the same time, but possibly the worst for that was i`d say RE5 the multiplayer which is a very small download and you are basically buying an expensive unlock key.

  i got both and i can easily say that xbox kicks the hell out of ps3 there is so much content on xbox no its getting to silly lol even got apps now got youtube sky player its just so sick really init
