no doubt about it, poms played well and thoroughly deserve to be in the final. of course fans look a bit disappointed, same as indian supporters were saddened, Pakistan supporters , west Indians, sri lankan……. and whoever gets beaten in the final. only drawback was the way Roy carried  on when given out. he is a good bat, why spoil it acting like a 10 year old?

The only thing that could have gone worse for the Aussies would have been bandage man Carey's helmet landing on his stumps, that would be a novel way of getting out.
Good news that channel 4 are showing the final now free to air, be interesting to see how the viewing figures compare with the womens football semi final.
Is there no third place match? Can't see any news about that.

I think Roy forgot the review had been used by Bairstow who channelled his inner Stuart Broad for dumb referrals. The umpire seemed to go to signal for wide and then changed his mind. I do think you should have 2 reviews in an Innings like in Tests, but does help when you don't stupidly review early on for a pointless dismissal. I think Roy will look back and regret it, but when it's a semi-final and you don't touch it either emotions will run high, especially against the Aussies.

On the final, it will be a far different Black Caps side to the one that for me went through the motions in the group stage. For me, NZ is a tougher nut to crack than the Australian's this time around. As they look solid in batting and bowling and only really England can claim that i feel. India needed to rely on Kohli and Sharma mostly, Aussies on Finch, Warner and Smith, but England have arguably the best batting down the card (plus reason they are they no.1 team in the rankings. Heart says England, Head says 2nd time lucky for New Zealand.

shouldn't matter what excuses roy can make for his little tantrum, fact is he was given out, just get off the  ground. it's not as if it was the last over, 9 wickets down, 2 runs  behind. England were going to romp home. get a deck of cards roy- deal with it.

considering neither country has won the world cup, it's good kiwis and poms are playing off. wonder if being hometown favourites will help or hinder England? kiwis are the massive underdogs- so they have nothing to lose. aussie trait is to barrack for the underdog, so i'll be going for nz, I like their low-key attitude. but if poms get up, no worries with me, they deserve  it

congratulations England, but what a deflating and anti-climatic ending.  kiwis were stiff to lose, especially with 4 overthrows off stokes bat. but poms were worthy winners. great tournament- shame about deciding rule to get a winner. number of 4s hit? if anything , least number of wickets lost wins. anyway it 's decided the loser would be unlucky. well done England- now bring on the ashes...….
