Metro workers in Sao Paulo think they should be given 12.2% pay increase. The Brazilian riot police disagree, and are currently tear-gassing around 300 protestors. There's helicopters (one for SPC) circling overhead too!
Anyways, Brazil's president Dilma Rousseff says she won't allow protests to mar the World Cup. Clearly not...
And what's up with the weather? First it was thunderstorms in Miami, then Belgium's friendly against Australia in Brussels last night was halted for 40 minutes due to some massive-bastard hailstones. The hosts won 1-0, though Romelu Lukaku limped off after 62 minutes after taking a knock to his knee. Should be alright in 3 or 4 days, nobody panic.

World Cup 2014: England and Brazil's chances equal - Pele
Brazil legend Pele says England "have the same chance" as his country of winning the 2014 World Cup.
But the 73-year-old is hoping the hosts end up facing Uruguay in the final so they can make amends for their 1950 humiliation. After saturday night I DONT THINK SO -

He always says that.
Pretty sure he just changes his predictions based on the nationality of the journalist he happens to be talking to at the time. -

The Dutch are rucking!
Once the France squad start getting mutinous then the tournament will officially be underway.
Which is handy, because the actual opening ceremony has been thrown in to disarray after Jennifer Lopez pulled out due to 'production issues'.
She was meant to be doing a duet with Pitbull, poor chap...

It's a day to go and and it all begins tomorrow! There's the ceremony and then the first game Brazil V Croatia at 9pm I think.
