RE: World Cup Countdown

The England squad have arrived in Miami, where they'll play friendlies against Ecuador this Wednesday and Honduras on Saturday.
Next stop Brazil, and Roy Hodgson has told the players that he expects the national anthem to be belted out loud and proud before their games there. "You very rarely play against opponents and they haven't got their hands on their hearts and singing their anthem as loud as they can. We made the decision very early on to do what every other team does."
England's first opponents in Group D, Italy (June 14th), have just announced their squad for the tournament and there's no place for former Man Utd striker Guiseppe Rossi. He scored 14 goals in 17 Serie A matches for Fiorentina before picking up a knee injury in January, but despite regaining fitness and playing 71 minutes of Saturday's friendly against Ireland, obviously wasn't deemed quite fit enough. No place for Dani Osvaldo either, which won't do Southampton's chances of flogging him much good at all. Mind you, they'll probably need all the players they can get next season.
GOAL OF THE DAY
Speaking of Italians called Rossi... Paulo, 1982.
9 DAYS TO GO!
