A woman thought it’d be a good idea to quit her job and become a Mukbang star on YouTube instead, which involves filming herself eating thousands of calories at one time. Wow, she’s really living the dream!
22-year-old Charna Rowley, threw in the towel at her full time job as an admin worker so she could concentrate on her new career of shovelling 5000 calorie meals into her face, including McDonald’s, Greggs, Pizza Hut and Chinese takeaways.
For those who are new to the whole ‘Mukbang’ thing, it’s a type of video that originated in South Korea, where people talk to their audience while binging on copious amounts of food. It’s pretty gross.
Charna’s goal is to be the biggest Mukbamg star of the UK and says her "ultimate aim" is to work her way up to eating 10,000 calories in one go. She said:
Quote:I've just got to show how confident I am.
I might get something stuck in my tooth or around my mouth but people love how funny I am.
I have the negative viewers, telling me how fat I am, how I could be pretty if I try not to eat so much but most of the time I just don't answer.
I enjoy it and it gives me confidence - and now that I can monetise my channel and really respond to people's requests, it can become a full time career move.
Erm, yeah, it’s a great career choice if you want to give yourself diabetes or a premature heart attack, Charna already weighs a hefty 16 stone but claims her new career won’t see her gaining weight because she goes to the gym four times a week. HAHA! No love! An hour on the cross trainer is not going to burn off 10,000 calories. What a pleb. Apparently even Charna’s mum is on board with her daughter’s crazy career choice. Here’s what Charna had to say:
Quote:She initially saw it as a hobby. But once she saw my passion and the following I was managing to get, she changed her mind. Now she thinks I should go for it while I'm young and I have the opportunity.
Jesus. The deep fried apple doesn’t fall fall from the tree does it?!
