Woman cancels wedding a week before because her fiance was looking at porn

A woman from America has cancelled her wedding just a week before it was due to take place because her husband-to-be was looking at porn on his phone. I mean it's a tad extreme but hey, if she doesn't want to marry him, that' her choice.


 
Claire Dalton revealed what had happened on her blog 'Love What Matters' (oh FFS). Apparently, the 21-year-old had grown up wishing to find a love that was 'true and pure' as well as 'governed by God's law'. Yeah, good luck with that one love. She thought that she had found it until the week before the wedding she discovered that her fiance had several tabs open on his phone that contained some smutty images. She said that he'd obviously been watching porn and had "multiple windows open of sick and twisted ideas of what women supposedly look like." She said:
 

I felt like I'd been cheated on. It changed my entire relationship with him, including all the happy memories we had shared in the past. It made me feel worthless and unlovable.

Someone I loved and cared for deeply had been expertly lying to me for the entire length of our relationship, and possibly longer, since we had been friends for so long.

All at once, I was with a stranger instead of the person I thought I knew so well. In an instant I could never trust those lying eyes ever again. All I ever wanted in a relationship was honesty, and it quickly occurred to me the only honesty I'd known at that point was fake.

Claire is now trying to rebuild her life and wants other women to know it's important to talk about these issues:
 

Experiences like this MUST BE TALKED ABOUT because keeping quiet only leaves deeper wounds and undeniable scars. My hope is that someone who reads this knows she's not the first one to go through something similar, and it's okay to hurt for a long long time. It's okay to take time to grieve. It's okay to feel broken. And there IS HOPE FOR HEALING

It's fair that she wants someone who is honest with her but it doesn't seem like her time with the God Squad has left her open to a partner being allowed to be honest about what they need in their life too. 

She very much wants some fairytale based on gods plan for her. Good luck sweetheart, people aren't always so inherently flawed as we are led to believe but when you base your life on something that tells you that your instincts are flawed and bad then it's a road to disaster.
