never really felt the urge to buy an xbox and i find Wii to be very gimmicky, and personally i`ve never had problems with the ps3`s online service.
i did have a psp for a while back when they first came out, but i ended up getting rid of it as i hardly ever used it
for example the God of war prequel games are great, but then God of war are generally among my favourite games every playstation they release a new edition for.
see i never got into god of war, as i didn't own a ps2 at any point. again the thing this thread keeps coming back to is the only real thing to differentiate the systems is which exclusive games you like the most

Plus while it' £40 a year, the xbox is so much cheaper that the difference kind of comes out in the wash. Never played god of war either, but I've heard nothing but good about it.Thats the thing part of why i don`t have an xbox is the fact that you have to pay for online i think its blatantly money grubbing when you have the ps3 providing it for free, and i like the trophies i tend to obsessively try and get all of them on certain games lol, but each to their own.
Plus I like having a gamerscore, I don't think the trophies lend the same fun networking aspect to the gaming that the gamerscore does.

I will say though if you ever get a ps3 get the god of war collections and god of war 3, they`re brilliant games.
I`ve never got this thing where some xbox fans and some ps3 fans feel they have to hate the fans of the other just because they have a different preference in their gaming choice, especially when there are some great multi platform games that both can enjoy and even talk about if they wanna chat about gaming, rather than have pointless arguments.

the thing i would point out is that yes you pay for xbox live but is a far more well rounded experience and seems to "just work better"
also i don't really think you can call M$ more money grabbing than sony lol
as far as trophies/gamerscore, i was a massive gamerscore whore, that was untill m$ decided to reset my gs and when i asked why, they said "you cheated" so i asked them for specifics to which i got the reply of "we don't need to give specifics, we know we're right" and i can tell you considering i had over 85,000 points (you normally get 1000gs per game although there are a few with more, but to get the full lot it's the equivalent of getting every single trophy in a game) which took quite a lot of gaming and skill if i do say so myself to get, i very nearly chucked out my xbox and bought a ps3 out of protest lol!

In the pc gaming world, it's done via dedicated servers (or atleast used to be, some game companies are changing to the gay console system), so you pay monthly for your own server which is always up, and you can change settings on it etc.
This way, rather than 10-20 people connecting to some random 15 year olds xbox via their 10Mb/s connection, everyone connects to a server which is incredibly fast, and has some super high commercial internet connection, like 1Gb/s or something silly.
Also, this means when the guy hosting the server decides its time to go play with his old boy in the bathroom whilst his parents are out, when he leaves the game it won't pause it for a minute to try migrate to a new host.

i've never really had any problems in that sense with the 360, it's ability to jump to a new host is almost imediate, or at the very least so fast that i don't notice it (obviously there are exceptions, for instance if your playing a very old game with not many people on-line)
so i don't really see that as a downside to console on-line
