  Out: Robert Hall (Bolton, Compensation), Jake Larkins (Leyton Orient, Free), Gary O’Neil (QPR, Free).
  Released: Carlton Cole, Jack Powell, Jami Rafati, Eoin Weaken.
  
  Prediction: 8th
  
  I’m not particularly excited by West Ham and 8th is possibly a bit high a prediction. Still, they’ve improved their squad since last season and I can’t see why Sam Allardyce wouldn’t be able to better that 10th place finish.
  
  That probably depends on Andy Carroll staying fit and an extra striker to partner him wouldn’t go amiss either. If that happens, there’ll be a lot of grudging respect flying around Upton Park in the coming months.

  i think that west ham will finish around tenth again this season, i can't see them getting much higher than that though. they have a solid team which should do okay, providing key players don't get injured.

  The transfer window might be done but that doesn't stop clubs signing unattached players, and after forgetting to bring in a new striker, West Ham are about to re-sign Carlton Cole.
  
  If he wasn't good enough for them to keep hold of in the first place, why bother? Seems a bit desperate.

  look very desperate and he is crap. remember when he first started playing forchelsea and people were expecting big things for, then he turned out like all young 'talented' english players.

  I saw him playing for Chelsea's reserves against Southampton 10 or 12 years ago. He scored a hat-trick and looked an absolute world-beater.
  
  A lot of loan deals early in his career and he stayed at Chelsea for quite a while I think. Never had chance to settle anywhere and develop.

  he did look quality when he first started playing, but i guess like most english youngsters you get a big deal, live the high life and then sit in the stands fo most of season.

  most people would get in great shape in pre season noit having a club so you can impress, but these shit english footballers have so much money they lack motivation.
