  Allardyce launches attack on 'brainwashed' West Ham fans
  
  Ex-West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has hit out at his former club's fans saying they had been brainwashed into thinking they should play "the West Ham way".
  In the latest extract taken from his autobiography, serialised in The Sun, the new Sunderland manager lays into Hammers supporters who failed to warm him because of his reputation for direct football.
  
  Allardyce wrote, "My 'long ball' label was started by Graeme Souness, who got upset whenever I beat him when he was at Blackburn or Newcastle, and was picked up by Arsene Wenger and Rafa Benitez.
  "As soon as I was appointed West Ham manager in 2011 the big debate was whether I would follow the 'West Ham way', which nobody could define but, whatever it was, I apparently didn't play it.
  "I felt the West Ham way was about wearing your heart on your sleeve and showing passion for the club and winning.
  
  
  "But the fans were being brainwashed into thinking that, historically, the club had a particular style of play which was akin to Barcelona, which was potty.
  "I once called the supporters deluded and I stand by that. I don't know who invented the 'West Ham way' phrase, but it's a millstone around the club's neck."

  West Ham "sandwich" seem to be doing very well this season without "big" Sam! That's a good nickname for Rampant T.V. lmao! I think Slaven Bilic has done a very good job so far this season. I don't expect West Ham to finish in the top five, but I think top eight would be good for them. As for this silly talk about the West Ham way? I agree with Big Sam, that does sound like total bollocks. Football has evolved a lot and systems of play are different now than back in the day, so I don't get what the fans want?
  
  I think I'll go and have a "big" West Han sandwich now, mmmmm :)

  Dave, I think that used to be true too, but West Ham are currently fourth in the Premier League! Of course, I can still slag them off....and will....because Arsenal are sitting pretty in second place, but Spurs are down in seventh, lmao! OK, I think by the end of the season Spurs will be finishing higher in the table than West Ham. It's very possible by the end of the season that West Ham fans will be feeling like mugs...again lmao!

  I think last weekends 2-0 away defeat to Watford was a wake up call to West Ham! I think they've done very well this season, much like Leicester. However, I think the time will come when both teams slide back down the table. I think both are top ten teams, but are not going to finish this season near the top of the Premier League. The problem is fans get carried away with a run of good results then get above themselves. I don't think West Ham have the players to stay at the top of the Premier League, so I won't be surprised or upset as they slide down the table.
  
  Of course, there is only one London team I care about and it's not West Ham  :)

  The fact that West Ham are basically getting a stadium for free when other teams have to spend tons of money to upgrade their stadium.. is sickening. AND its apparently being paid for by the taxpayers. How the fuck can this kinda thing be allowed to happen. Its bullshit really and isnt fair. They should be taken to court and stopped ffs.

  I actually thought Everton would've won today's game V West Ham! As it was, a 1-1 draw that seemed a reasonable game. West Ham have been good this season I think, but they seem to be slowing down now. I'm not surprised, they don't have the players to maintain their current Premier League position in my opinion. Still, they do look good for a top ten finish this season, and maybe will fight with Southampton for eighth position. I'm sure the fans will soon realize they were getting ahead of themselves, well, they should do once the reality of losing regularly takes it's toll lol!
  
  As for their new Stadium, well, that's typical! It wouldn't surprise me if they still raised ticket prices lol :)
