The first trailer for Steven Spielberg's highly anticipated Ready Player One just dropped at San Diego Comic-con and people are hella excited.
This movie tells the story of a kid growing up in the near future, dreaming of escape from his life in a massive, dystopian trailer park. He's only happy in the Oasis, a massive multiplayer VR world, where he indulges in his love for 1980s pop culture. Check out the trailer:
Looks pretty insane right? I'm always up for a dystopian flick so I'm super excited for this. Sadly we'll have to wait until March 30th 2018 to see it. -

this movie is something different for a change, looks like some crazy syfy which is what i like about it, im pretty sure i saw the back to the future car in this, so im curious to see what its all about, good post -

Got around to watching 'Ready Player one' earlier today. Fired the film up already expecting to turn the film off prematurely. Primary reason being, what with it being heavilly influenced and filled with computer game cut scene style footage and references of the ilk, with me no longer being a computer game player, i fired it up as the harshest of preemptive critics. Gotta say, the strangest of things happened..not only did i watch the film to it's conclusion, but also enjoyed it. This could have so easily just been a succession of computer game style cut scenes with a naff 'real world' wrap around story, and in the hands of many a direct and co..it so easily could have been. Fortunately Speilberg is a master at movies of this kinda ilk ' family friendly popcorn adventure thrill rides' and hisrep remains intact. Very enjoyable, a great story, solid perfomances, plenty to keep you interested, some truly top notch effects and the pop culture references andeaster egg characters..best of luck spotting em all. A great ride with a fantastic 80's heavy soundtrack. Gonna actually shell out and buy a retail copy of this one. -

gym addict you called it on batman ninja. boy did it suck . i was putting off buying it but on amazon there was a version with a fancy cover for £14;99 ( amazon exclusive it said ) and they had the same one in hmv for £7;99 . so like a sucker i fell for it. wow . it started well but got very bad very quickly. it was like it was visiting all japanes genres. power rangers. transformers. studio ghilbli. i could not watch it all in one go. i kept looking at the info to see how long there was to go. at one point it went to a washed out water colour and i thought it was a dream sequence as it did not fit in. but wow was it bad . at least i have a special amazon only cover for my trouble.

See, you got so distracted by the ever so dubious 'Batman Ninja' that you went and posted your replay in the wrong thread, stjohn66 (either that or, like me, the heat's getting to ya..hayfevers kicking my arse). If you had simply wasted time watching the film i may have been a tosser and said 'told ya so' but as youv'e parted readies for it my conscience wont allow me to rub it in. We do seem t be on a pretty smaler wavelength when it comes t these animated dc offerrings. Pity you cant attempt to return it claiming a duff disc (if only it was that simple). -
