  Defence wise I think we'll get a back up RB, first choice LB and maybe one experienced CB. I think we'll see Michael Keane get a call up to the first team next season so i'm not sure if Moyes will feel the need to get a new CB and if we don't get a back up right back in I expect to see Varela make the jump up also.
  
  I think I said it somewhere else, maybe even in this thread but i'd like to see Rafael - Evans - new CB - Shaw as our first choice back 4 next season with Jones/Smalling/Keane/Evra/new RB or Varela as the back ups

  ok lets play clear out Nani,Anderson,Evra,Rio, i dont see hernandez staying,kagawa i dont rate rafael as a denfensive player too rash as for upfront i can see Rvp going aswell i want lallana,shaw in as for upfront im not sure and dont rule out modric for midfeild maybe costa

  Well lets see how Man United are impacted if they dont make the Champions League. One season without it wont be too bad and wont stop big players from joining but there is no guarantee big names will come rushing, just look at the summer window (and that was with Champions League lol)

  So you would get rid of Rafael (who has arguably been our most consistent player the last few years) and replace him with...no one?
  
  For me, I want Young and Anderson out, Rio will most likely retire, Vidic of course is confirmed and I think we'll see RvP and maybe Hernandez go. In i'd like to see Shaw, Kroos (far too much smoke without fire that one), another CM...let's say Gundogan because we've been heavily linked, a back up RB and maybe a new CB.
  
  Promote the likes of M.Keane, W.Keane, Varela, Henriquez, Powell, Lingard etc and base the team around 4-2-3-1. Something like:
  
  First choice:
  .................de Gea
  Rafael....Evans....Jones....Shaw
  ........Gundogan...Kroos
  ......Mata....Kagawa...Januzaj
  .................Rooney
  
  Second choice:
  ...............Lindegaard
  new RB..Smalling..new CB..Evra
  ...........Carrick...Fellaini
  ....Valencia...Powell...Nani
  .................Welbeck
  
  Third choice:
  ....................Amos
  Varela...M.Keane..Thorpe...Buttner
  ...........Fletcher...Cleverley
  ........Zaha...Lingard...Giggs
  ................W.Keane ....................(or Henriquez)
  
  I've set these three teams out with effort made to not re-use any players

  Mostly with you Potato, but with Vidic and most likely Ferdinand off I think you need a proper world class centre half, not just cover for Jones/Evans.
  
  Gundogan AND Kroos might be a touch ambitious, but one of them should be enough anyway if Fletcher can stay fit and Fellaini finds a bit of form.
  
  And Shaw, I'm a Southampton fan so fuck off mostly! But if he goes anywhere it'll be Chelsea (boyhood fan and all that).

  Yeah that's true but at the same time I do think that it's about time we gave Jones/Smalling consistent runs at CB, they'll never reach their potential otherwise. only bringing in a back up CB could well be a risk for next season but I think it's a risk worth taking.
  
  Haha yeah, it is a bit, but then what with Gundogan's back issues he may be available quite cheap and I think Kroos is Moyes' main target based on his various meeting with his agent and consistent scouting so you never know... well, a man can dream atleast!
  
  As for Shaw, does who you support really matter to pros? I mean, Terry was a United fan, Solskjaer a Liverpool fan, Gerrard Everton etc etc... don't get me wrong, Chelsea probably do have a better chance as they also need a LB but I wouldn't rule us out because he supports them. Aaron Ramsey also was a United fan, had a tour of OT with Neville when we were in discussions but went with Arsenal after meeting Wenger.
  
  As a Saints fan though do you think you can keep him or do you think he's as good as gone?

  He'll go at some point. Though we're in a much better position now compared to when we had to sell Walcott, Bale and Ox as teenagers, and could maybe keep hold of him for another 2 or 3 years.
  
  But if he's good enough to get in the United or Chelsea side now I wouldn't begrudge him a move in the summer. Just don't want to see him sat on a bench somewhere when he could be getting Premier League experience with us.

  I still don't get why they're getting rid of him they need leadership in the team, that's the only thing that will smoothen their transition.

  We're not getting rid of him, he wanted more than we were willing to give (years wise aswell as money wise). He has also regressed hugely this season and, along with Rio, is unfortunately now a liability. I would have liked to have kept him as back up for next season, basically the role Rio is in now. But as I say there was nothing the club could do as he wanted more than just one year and the same/less wages.
