  ohh, i see what you mean. see i pretty much started watching pride first, before UFC. i mean i knew about ufc and stuff but i really got into mma about 11 or 12 years ago watching pride so for me those are the memories lol
  
  it is different to watch those classics like fedor vs big nog and wandy vs rampage when they were live than watching recording, because back then that was the cutting edge, that was the best LHW and HW action you could find, better than UFC (chuck liddell, randy couture being exceptions)
  
  bob sapp defo on steroids lol. he was really strong though - he slammed big nog really hard that was a v tough fight and cro cop was quite lucky to win so easily against him (broke his collar bone i think)

  I was always fan of boxing mainly and than watched some pride fights, but i didn't like some of stuff they could do. it was around the first ultimate fighter I really got into mma.

  i dunno about bob sapp ,lol he used to take the dive and throw fights for money,but he was the worst actor lol ,and i used to start off with boxing to until tysopn lost then i lost all interest in it

  i think this is true for most people probably this is why they want to induct the whole cast of the original ultimate fighter into the UFC hall of fame because of how it took the sport and the ufc to the next level.
  
  you didn't like that in pride you could knee your opponent's head on the ground and stomp and "soccer" kick them and all that?

  Never was a fan of that, was more like street fighting than combat sport and one of the reasons some people still look down on mma. That TUF season and liddell,couture rivalry was massive for ufc.

  well i dont think footy kicks to the head of a downed opponent but knees are ok ,i wish they let knees in ufc at all times to all areas apart from the nuts,andf the 3 point rule is bs ,put 1 hand down on the matt and its illegal to knee ,GTFO!

  yea guys really exploit that as well, making sure they keep one hand on the ground so the other guy cannot use a knee there
  
  if you didn't watch much pride then you might not know about what was known as the atomic butt drop lol - something mark hunt used to do i think you can youtube it quite funny lol. vintage pride...

  ye im playing the catch up game with pride now ,i keep watching the best of pride some sick fights,i didnt even know nick diaz used to fight in pride,and the pride annocer is tooooo funny the way she does the intro

  the pride lady was fukkin epic lol - you can really only get away with that in japan lol. but yea even chuck liddell went over there to fight and dan henderson.
  
  would you believe chuck lidell beat ALISTAIR OVEREEM in pride once upon a time lol - pretty weird right? back then overeem was a tall quite skinny LHW fighter.

  Knees to the head are just way too dangerous, the amount of injuries would go up massively, they'd be more serious and the lasting affect later on would be big on fighters.
