and i think as far as solving the problem by making a good game, well good games take quite a while to make so they would either need to begin on it when the program first airs with the hope that it will be a popular series, or they wait for the series to get big and start making it then in which case the game risks not coming out until after the program has finished and is no longer popular
exactly i think both tv and game execs view it as too big of a risk, with the exception of big franchises that have been around for years and already proven their popularity, although you only need play a superman game to realise that still doesn't mean you'll get a good game.
because to do a superman game true to character you have to make him pretty much unkillable, and if they tone his abilities down to make it harder to play, then fans of superman won`t like it.
that is exactly the problem, but it's never stopped them. i'm not much of a fan of superman anyway as he is so overpowered and the plots always fall back on "oh this guy has some kryptonite" yes i know superman did technically die in one of the comics but still he's way too overpowered, not that he started that way, a lot of his powers were added over the years but the problem is if they try to take any away now they'll piss off a lot of people

infact the lost game is probably a good argument on never making games of programs, i mean i loved lost, every series, but the game was bad.

i never really got into lost, i watched an episode or two and to be honest i found it a bit boring so didn't bother with it anymore. i tried the game as i thought it would be an easy 1000gs and i think i played it for about 30 mins before i never put it in the xbox again

Stargate and Supernatural would make great games.
In the case of Stargate you have the film and all those years of series and mythology to use, they wouldn`t even necceserally have to use a story from the series with how big the mythology is.
Supernatural, maybe if it generally followed the series, but let you free roam and decide what side cases to take yourself,
there would even be a load of possibilities of introducing new monsters entirely, or they could even just do a prequel game series where you can be john winchester or one of the other older hunters show that side of it.
Anybody else agree, or like certain series they think would transfer well to games?

and that was probably only because i was a big lost fan that i played it past the first half hour, ended up trading it in before i even completed it.

maybe i'll catch it when it's repeated

yea for sure check it out i didn't like the first episode i watched either, i thought it was like a cheap tv 300/gladiator rip off, but then you get into it - it's not a quality series or anything like sopranos but entertaining for guys cuz it's a lot of gore and some hot women and lots of intrigue and betrayal lol
