for me i dont have a top 5, my favourtie movie is shwashank redemption without a doubt! and i enjoy forrest gump alot too. I cant think of any that stand out in particular, but i am still yet to watch the godfather movies and i heard the artist is meantt to be a masterpiece!

Lord of the rings, (come 1 2 3 but ill count the trilogy as one)
The Rock
the Matrix (first one only, everyone forgets how good the first one was becuase of the sheer crapness of the next 2)
Gladiator
Blood diamond

ahh i should have added jurrasic park!!! every one forgets about it bacuae we were just kids when we saw it (when it came out in cinema) but was definately one of the best films to watch on the big screen!!!

People have said that quite a few times on this thread i think counting the Lord Of The Rings trilogy as one.
I forgot about the Rock not seen that for ages, wouldn`t count it as one of my favourites but it is good though.
The Matrix was a brilliant film sadly it`s reputation was ruined by some iffy sequels.
Gladiator is good, i find it a bit long though.
Never seen Blood Diamond the story of the film didn`t interest me enough to watch it.

Great thread idea, anyway here's my top 5:

1. Inception- My favourite of all time, amazing sci-fi like no other.
2. Star Wars Saga- Obviously some will disagree but all movies seem great to me.
3. Escape From New York- A ***** classic and truly enjoyable movie.
4. Gran Torino- My favourite Clint Eastwood movie and all round amazingly made movie.
5. Star Trek- Another great sci-fi

The rock's probably the best action film there is, they dont make them like they used to! lol! I'm a campaigner for the matrix, eeveryone just needs to ignore the last two, when the first one came out how crazy was everyone going over it!!! Blood diamond is an awesome film, i definately think you should watch it, even if you think you wont like it, i can bet you youll end up atleast not thinking your time had been wasted lol!

everyone forgets about jurrasic park, including me, becuase we were kids when we watchd it come out in cinema, but is definetly up there with the best and probs one of the best films ever to watch on the big screen!

There are people who will probably think i`m a bit nuts for saying this, but i don`t rate Reservoir Dogs at all, i personally think it`s a very overrated film.
And Full Metal Jacket as well just didn`t see what made that film so popular, i understand not everyone thinks the same as me though.

my top 5 fav movies would be 2012 ,black hawk down ,menace to society , paid in full and my alll time fav is full metal jacket like jesslloydfan the movie is so sick and very real so those are my 5 movies

I am going to change one of my favorite movies to The Artist which is now my all time favorite movie. Exceptionally good movie, cant say enough good things about it and anyone who hasn't seen it should catch it before it's theater run ends.
