Thunderbirds Are Go new series written by James Howe Episode one highway freeway It was 1:30 PM at Tracy Island and Scott Tracy had just woken up and come in to find his father and brothers having a late lunch. "Morning Scott" said on his younger brother and youngest of the Tracy brothers "or should I say good afternoon Scott" said Alan. "Don't have a go at me Alan"said to Scott where we came back at 4:30 AM and you were sleeping like a baby". Everybody laughed except for Alan he just looked crestfallen. Nobody knew where international rescue were based, The famous five Thunderbird machines however everyone knew what they were like fast dependable and brilliant. Anyway on the other side of the world on the motorway in England 52-year-old tanker driver Colin Creswell was driving his truck and tanker. He'd been driving for a number of hours already and was feeling very tired. However his radio of keeping him company with his brother Craig on the other on the other side. The radio beeped "come in Colin" said the radio . Colin answered "come in Craig any news" Craig replied "Colin it's time for your break you've been driving for a long time". Colin replied "I know but I'm nearly there and I've got 90 minutes of driving left i'll be fine Craig let me get there 1st then I'll have my break and finish my shift". Craig replied "okay Colin but you know that's my job not just as your brother but for all the drivers". Colin smiled as the radio hung up. Back at Tracy Island Scott Tracy haven't even got dressed yet he was sat around apart from twiddling his thumbs and watching Alan and Gordon take each other on at video games. Scott was bored so he decided to go and have a shower and set off for that. Meanwhile back in the north-west of England Colin Creswell was nearly at his delivery point but the scary bit happened that his brother hoped would never happen. Colin was starting to fall asleep just as he was beginning drift off for the second time the unthinkable happened the tanker driver and his tanker truck collided with a red light and car and as soon as that happened Colin woke up he grabbed his radio but it was too late he'd gone through the red light and overturned the damage was very bad. The force knocked Colin out but at the tanker base where his brother Craig was working heard from the radio what was going on. Craig called Colin's radio "come on Colin answer me Colin answer me you are getting us very worried back here". There was still no reply until a few minutes later when Colin woke up. "Aghh my head" said Colin Craig heard him "Colin what's going on" said Craig now worried. Colin looked out of the window there was smashed glass from his cabin window from his right hand side a few minutes until Colin could crawl out of his wreckage and the damage was not good not just from the truck or spilled tanker. Colin picked up his radio "Craig" said Colin "The damage is really bad but then a large screen and the people down below the bridge where Colin had crashed had started to crumble bits were falling off you would like a rubble wreak site. So Craig had options whilst talking to his brother to keep him calm. 1st Craig called the local emergency services including the police and ambulance services and Fire and rescue but there was one other option and he knew what that one was. In space hovering Planet Earth John Tracy was in Thunderbird five the space monitor known fault for taking all the distress calls he was waiting for instructions and a few minutes after loads of people started calling John straight away knew that something was up untill a distressed Craig Creswell Called him Craig told John what's happened and John finally Pictured the damage and it was serious very serious. So John medical Tracy Island and told Jeff Tracy what was going on and Jeff got the boys down. "Right boys we have a serious emergency on our hands 52-year-old tanker driver Colin Creswell has crashed in the north-west of England a Bridge that he was driving on has been left smashed his tanker spilt all over the road containing dangerous materials and is on fire but Colin Creswell himself had manage to get out of the burning tanker he is somewhere we don't know where that is what I want you to do". Jeff Tracy continued "Scott hang on a minute where it Scott" he said until A response from Scott happened Scott was just about to use the shower and had to stop to make its way to the lounge. "Scott here's what you need to do take off the Thunderbird 1 and head to the bridge find a safe place to land and activate know Mobile control then try and find Colin Creswell see if he's alright" Scott set off with Virgil behind him in Thunderbird 2 with the right rescue equipment. Scott was fast in Thunderbird 1 whilst heading to the scene he called John in Thunderbird 5 to get more information as he had missed Jeff's talk. A good few hours later and Scott arrived at the danger zone. After he activated Thunderbird 1's Firsters to land Scott called Tracy Island. "i've arrived dad and it looks pretty bad" said Scott "i'm going to set up mobile control and look for Colin Creswell". Scott then called Virgil "Virgil where are you flames are pretty bad then heading towards the powerstation and if that goes up well then bigger trouble we thought". Virgil Heard and answered straightaway "on my way Scott" he replied "not too far away I'll get straight into my fire outfit when I land" Scott then set up his mobile control and activated a small camcorder to try and track down the injured Colin Creswell. Luckily it didn't take too long for Scott to find to Colin he was lying down on the ground with a breeding forehead deeply cut from the glass. Scott called the emergency services and then activated a hover bike to go over to Colin Creswell as Scott arrived Colin moved his head up. "are you Colin?" asked Scott. "yeah I'm Colin" said Colin as soon as that happened Thunderbird 2 arrived to the delight of the crowds that were gathering. Virgil then landed Thunderbird 2 and the rescue mission really began. POD 3 was activated and then Virgil to his words got going he changed into his fire suit and then got into the firefighter truck to go and put out the fire and clean up any rubble that was around. "Wow" said Virgil "this heat it's unbearable so hot I can feel it already I'm sweating more than you Scott". Scott replied "okay I found Colin Creswell and taken him to medical assessment they should take care of him from now on okay Virgil it's down to you" And from that point on despite the heat and how hot it was Virgil managed to clear up most of the rubble and cutouts of the fire from spreading to the power plant. Then to amaze the crowds even more Virgil left the fire engine back in pod three to switch on the engines and get Thunderbird 2 back up into the air for the second part of the job. Once in their Virgil made his way towards the tanker which was still burning flames coming out of the sides then Virgil using in the chemical grabbers / claws attempted to pick up the parts of the tanker and truck luckily the tanker has split into parts to make it easier to Virgil. Once collecting the first two pieces of the damage tanker Virgil made his way towards a field which the landowner has given permission to drop the burning pieces to let them burn off and to keep the damage far away from members of the public. Asked for Scott he went back to the medical area to check on Colin Creswell he however was okay just badly shaken up with plenty of cuts and bruises after Scott checked on him Scott then called Virgil on his radio. Thankfully Virgil nearly finished with the burning tank are just two more pieces which were the hard parts to do. Virgil called Tracy Island 'Brains I need help what should I do next?' Brains said 'come on Virgil do you know what to do just one more keep going and then everything will be done and the firefighters will deal with everything else'. Scott was already beginning to pack up his mobile control when his radio went in there to services were waiting to do their part in extinguishing the rest of the fire Scott gave them permission as soon as Virgil would be done with lifting the last piece but Virgil was now struggling. Thunderbird 2's grabbers / claws were starting to loosen up a bit making it harder for Virgil to fly the great Thunderbird machine at the same time as holding and activating the claws. But finally with the remaining strength that he had watched by Scott and so many others Virgil manage to get the job done. 'Brilliant well done Virgil' said Scott now emergency services will take our place and finish off the job Colin Creswell looks set to make a recovery and our job here is done let's go home'. Virgil smiled as he wiped his sweat off his forehead 'let's go home then Scott' he replied as both Thunderbird machines set off back to Tracy Island away from the waving crowds. A few hours later and in hospital in wing b Colin Creswell sat up in his bed his brother Craig sat at his bedside 'well brother' said Craig 'that was one mighty scare I thought I lost you right then but it's down to international rescue that you're still alive'. Colin smiled and said 'well if you're in the same place and position as I was then yes I would agree with you on that and you were right I was very tired and I should've taken my breaks but hopefully soon when I'm back out on the road I'll be much more careful'. At Tracy Island both thunderbird machines were landing as soon as Virgil and Scott arrived back into the lounge from their launchpads Alan approached Scott. 'So Scott are you going to take that shower now you've got time' set on as everyone started to laugh Scott walked off to go and take his well earned shower Alan looked to have got his own back for earlier. The End -

Glad Colin's learnt his lesson and not too badly injured but I hope they throw the book at him.
Rules are rules and as this story shows they're there for a reason. -
