Just because a woman slips on a posh dress and a big hat, it DOES NOT make her a lady. This was definitely the case for Aintree over the weekend as women from all over the UK flocked to Liverpool to strut their stuff at the Grand National races.



The sun was shining, the bars were overflowing; here come the sloppy drunk bitches.

Do you think the racing is becoming more mainstream so more types of women are going? Or do you think that the general 'ladylike' approach is starting to disappear?

To be honest, I feel like it probably a bit of both.

I definitely think the ladylike approach is disappearing. The races have always attracted gypsies and the like but it seems everyone now is getting a little rough around the edges.

I wonder why the idea of being 'ladylike' is not appealing anymore. Going to the races is as much about pomp and spectacle as it is actually watching the race. Turning into more of a major drinking event maybe?

I'm all for getting a bit tipsy but there's nothing more unattractive than seeing a woman falling all over the place because she's had too much to drink. After seeing those pics, the races definitely don't look appealling. I've seen classier birds in Oceana Kingston on a Friday night.
