  Remember how Arsenal kept hold of their big names in the summer because it didn’t look like there was anyone worth nicking? Well now they’re playing some half decent stuff again Barcelona want Jack Wilshere. Milan are after Thomas Vermaelen as well but that’s got more to do with him not being able to get a game. It's not all doom and gloom though, Juve striker Fernando Llorente and Hamburg keeper Rene Adler could be on their way to the Emirates this January.
  
  Juventus want Southampton striker Dani Osvaldo on loan as a replacement for Llorente, and they also like the look of Pajtim Kasami. Don’t we all? Wonder-goooal! Sticking with the Saints, they could be about to go for Calgliari centre half Davide Astori again. But do they need him?
  
  On to Spurs now, who are rumoured to be eyeing up Christian Benteke. £28m might seem a lot, but only until you learn that they’re also preparing a £17m bid for Dinamo Zagreb teenager Alen Halilovic. Bit of perspective there… A three-year deal for Andrea Pirlo (who’s 34) is mental though.
  
  Chelsea might actually sign a striker! Specifically Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa. Don’t worry though, they’re still being linked with midfielders. It’s Blaise Matuidi from PSG this week. Man City are keen too.
  
  Liverpool want City’s young forward John Guidetti, and his fellow Swede Ola Toivonen could be on his way to Norwich.
  
  Lastly, Newcastle are sniffing around Dele Alli of the MK Dons. Joe Kinnear thinks he’s Dele Adebola, etc, etc…

  Oh dont forget, Wayne Rooney is linked with a January move to Chelsea. It looks like the blues will be willing to pay 35 million pounds to secure his services! Whether the rejuvinated Rooney wants to leave or not is another matter. Source Daily Star

  I'd hang around til the summer if I were him, see if Utd finish top 4, do one if they don't.

  Has it gone that bad for Manchester United that we have to see if they make top 4, let alone put in a title challenge. I must say since the end of the window, Rooney has been really professional, he hasnt look disinterested or sulking etc. But I still think he will push for a move eventually.

  Personally I think they will just about make the Champions League places, but the players must have their doubts at the moment.
  
  Rooney has looked good, and seems happy for now, but it doesn't take much does it?

  I will lay my cards on the table before my comment. I am a utd fan. That being said I really think it is too premature to think utd won't contend for the title let alone top 4. This season is too unpredictable. ( the previous was written with a lot of hope ).

  Agree with that, it is still too early, but you can only go on what you've seen so far can't you?

  On what we have seen alone then yes they look mid table. But history of slow starts and the unpredictable form of everybody still gives me the feint hope that this is a prolonged blip.
