  Ay, that's the new game now, especially with the sponsors and the money involved, it's the umpires call, and if he gets it wrong then you're either very lucky or very unlucky. On commentary this morning, they were saying even the Aussies didn't really mind, it's par for the course now... As usual the media are the ones who like a good story lol...
  
  Well Broad gets his 50 and Bell gets his 18th Test Match century, but both fall soon afterwards. Swann doesn't look comfortable with the bat and is soon out and Anderson lasts two balls... all that means is that England end their 2nd innings on 375 with about 30 minutes play left before lunch, leaving the Aussies needing 311 to win.
  
  Watson and Rogers make a decent start and they put on 28 for no loss as they toddle off to lunch.
  The afternoon session should be very interesting indeed...

  On the stroke of tea, Nelson strikes again as Joe Root gets an uncomfortable looking Ed Cowan out, caught by Trott, for only 14... Lovely stuff, that's how you do it Swanny lol...
  
  Earlier, just after the drinks break, Watson gets trapped lbw by Broad for 46.... those drinks breaks really do make wickets tumble...
  
  The good news for the Aussies is that Chris Rogers is 50 not out, and they were looking to have taken the edge until that wicket fell. With 4 sessions still to go, this will be a result, if England gets a quick wicket after Tea, that could be the start of a collapse, we hope !!!
  Whatever happens, it's been a good first test, nervous jitters on both teams, there'll be no excuse for the 2nd test, all guns blazing please...

  But if it wasn't for 3 late wickets, it wouldn't be looking so good for England. Australia were going along nicely at 161 for 3, then Clarke, Smith and Hughes fell rapidly to make things interesting.
  The Aussies only need another 137 to win, and that man Agar has just come to the wicket, can he do it again? I say only 137, that's still a tall ask.
  England are still the firm favourites and to be honest they should wrap this up to take a 1-0 lead; By lunchtime? well that's another matter lol...

  How close is this, deja-vu with England having the extra 30 minutes again and again failing to take that last wicket. With only 20 more to get, Haddin and Pattinson have seen off the English bowlers, yes, there have been a few lucky strokes, but they're still there, but probably didn't want to come in, as the momentum, was certainly with the Aussies.
  
  The English bowling wasn't great, Finn went for 15 off 1 over, they missed a potential run out, a couple of dropped catches, will these be the telling factors, if the Aussies can hold their nerve and cross that line... 20 singles, that's all they need, no need for extravagant shots.
  
  For England, all it needs is one ball, and edge, a turning ball, and they scrape through....
  
  Whoever wins, there will be a lot of talking points from a very enjoyable first test.

  WOW, what a game, the Aussie fall 14 runs short, with the last wicket being given out thanks to the review system. No one was sure, but hotspot and later snicko proved there was an edge and so Haddin was out for 71 and Australia all out for 296.
  
  James Anderson took another 5 wicket haul, and for his 10 wickets in the match, he was given the MOM award.
  
  But really, how close was this, a supposedly weakened Aussie side did themselves more than proud, and although England may be jubilant at their win, they have to look at improving for the 2nd test, which isn't far away, starting this coming Thursday.
  
  Having a review left proved the winner here, something that Australia need to get better at, even Clarke admitting they hadn't used it wisely enough, especially for his own review!!!
  
  Bring on Lords and lets hope the weather is as good as it was for this one...

  absolutely amazing match and i cant think of any better way than spending a day at the cricket watching it because it is such a good game and everyone loves beating the aussies in any sport but especially cricket.
