  OK slightly concerned now that the planned director Roberto Orci has now pulled out, always worries me when the original ideas men get shunted off from the film. Is it possible the film will be pushed back to wait for JJ?

  Thanks for the info re: Roberto Orci, Gravey08. Wasnt aware that he had stepped down from directing duties. Apparently he is still going to be involved but its speculation at this stage if it was the studio that had a change of heart due to handing him such a massive movie when he has no directorial experience or if it was his descision owing to a rubbish script. Read online that a fan campaign has started to get Jonathan Frakes on board to direct. That would be so awesome in my opinion (First contact...my favourite next generation movie by far).

  Gym,yep heard that not only fans want Frakes, but the man himself has said he is calling JJ to say he is willing to do it. (Oh and First Contact is my fave ST:NG film as well!)

  Come on Paramount. Jonathan Frakes wants the job, us fans want him to do it, he has proved himself more than capable (we can forget that god awful Thunderbirds lol). Fingers crossed this happens.

  OK just read that Fast and Furious director Justin Lin is now the director for ST3. Would have prefered Edgar Wright myself but there we go.

  Apparantly Orci stepped down because Paramount want to turn Star Trek into Guardians of the Galaxy. This on top of them over looking Frakes means the hype train is not coming to my station

  Yes it is a worry. Not seen Fast and Furious but they were never my cup of tea anyway but I am now concerned with how this one may go. Hopefully JJ will keep things on a tight reign.

  Justin Lin..ok, jokes over, who is really directing. What, your not joking. Oh well, we had a good run with the rebooted Star Trek, supose it had to die a death at some point. The Fast and the Furious movies while occassionally entertaining brain switch off movies, thats all they were and are for me...brain switch off movies. The only saving grace maybe as Gravey08 points out, if Justin Lin is kept on a VERY tight leesh.

  Re-watched this the other night and found it .............. OK,
  
  I sort of remember it being shorter and with a fuller story line, but I must of slept through parts of the film
  first time round,
  
  This time, I enjoyed it but thought some scenes are just to dragged out and I lose interest.......

  That is rather surprising, I personally haven't seen it yet but rotten tomato gave it 87%, which is decently high. It also got pretty good view ratings, I'll have to make time to watch this within the next month or so. So many movies to watch and not enough time to watch any!
