Ronald Koeman has done a great job at Southampton, and will be a big loss to the club, and certainly Everton's gain, IF he decides to go to Goodison Park.
Spoke to a couple of Blues today, and they would be happy with Koeman in charge. They didn't think they would get Emery, but will very much settle for the Dutch maestro.
Must be the massive salary and promise of a big transfer kitty (as you pointed out, Scotty), that has swayed RK towards the Everton hot seat.
Interesting to see, if Koeman does leave St Mary's, who they will bring in as his replacement.
Southampton are a decent side, and caused so many teams problems throughout the season. You Saints fans must hope the next man in, if RK leaves, continues the fine work. -

Even with the transfer kitty, and Koeman there, I'd still back Southampton to finish above Everton next season. And if he stayed, then surely the prospect of a decent run in Europe would do more to enhance his reputation than another rebuilding job that might/might not work out?
If the Arsenal or Barcelona job came up tomorrow he'd be right in the frame (deservedly) and no-one could begrudge him the move. Everton seems like a sideways step though, at best, and if he does go then it can only be for the payday.
As for replacements, maybe Eddie Howe or Frank De Boer? Quiqo Flores? But i'd back the club's judgement whoever they go for. We'll be fine, onwards and upwards... -

Yeah, Koeman will be giving up a run in the Europa League, if he does go. Will be interesting to see how things pan out.
Just after 2pm on Sky Sports News, it was reported that reps for both Koeman and Everton met, and they are a long way off from sorting out compensation to Southampton, likely to be in the region of £3m.
I think Southampton will be fine, however things pan out, with a good structure in place, plus with St Mary's now long being a Rupert Lowe-free zone!!! :P -

Ta very much!
Weird how times change though isn't it? I didn't check the odds but I imagine we went in to the game as favourites.
But all the same, Southampton beat Inter Milan! Got to enjoy it, haven't you? -

Well the Leicester result (and performance) has got me feeling more confident, but it could be hard work tomorrow night if van Dijk isn't fit.
Liverpool aren't exactly flying though, and I really can't see them dishing out a hammering. If you put a gun to my head i'd back us to just about scrape through.
As for the Arsenal game, who knows? Both managers will no doubt play the stiffs so it's impossible to call.
