  Hello ,
  
  I have just joined as a VIP member and never posted on Rampant before , but I am a Southampton supporter, and have been all my live , since I originally came from the area and went to a lot of games when we played at the Dell , and a few at St Mary`s ,and yes it will be interesting to see how we do this season and like last year it will depend on how the new signings perform and how the Europa league affects us and I would certainly take 7th position again , but I think it might be mid table , still , there is some time till the transfer window closes and hopefully we will sign a couple more players , certainly another centre back.
  
  As I said since I have moved from the area I don't go to many home games normally just 1 or 2 a season and last season I only went to one game , but that was the home game against Sunderland so that was unbelievable.

  The Europa League games might be a big factor come the end of the season and the league standing :S

  Welcome Purplehaze, I have a massive soft spot for Southampton, I think it was growing up watching Matt LeTissier be the laziest brilliant player ever. Christ he scored some belters. I would love to see someone else break the top four, Hopefully Koeman can handle the European Juggling game.

  Southampton boss Ronald Koeman says teams that risk a Europa League exit by playing weakened sides are "crazy".
  West Ham are set to leave out several first-team regulars for their second-leg trip to Romanian side Astra Giurgiu with their tie level at 2-2.
  But Koeman will not do the same at Vitesse Arnhem on Thursday despite holding a 3-0 lead from the first leg.
  "It is a crazy thing to think about it, to throw everything away in the start of the Europa League legs," he said.
  "I am a person who likes to win always and I hate losing. I hate to lose and that mentality needs my players as well."
  Koeman will be forced into one change from the side that comfortably beat Vitesse at St Mary's last week, with midfielder Jordy Clasie - signed from Feyenoord for £8m in July - ruled out with a hamstring injury.

  Southampton, competing in European competition for the first time since a first-round exit in the old Uefa Cup in 2003, are now one round from reaching the Europa League group stage. They will find out who they face in the two-legged play-off round after Friday's draw in Switzerland.

  Southampton face Danes FC Midtjylland in the Europa League play-off round.
  Ronald Koeman's side, who beat Vitesse Arnhem in the last round, are at home for the first leg on 20 August, before travelling to Denmark a week later.

  Two games in and the Southampton from last season seem to be gone..? Maybe theyre just having problems with some new players or something. Hopefully it picks up and they get back what they had last season.. and then challenge for the title :D:D:D

  Well Clyne, Alderweireld and Schneiderlin have gone, plus Forster and Bertrand are injured.  So there's only Fonte and Wanyama left from last season's mean defence.
  
  Not too worried at this stage though.  Bertrand and Clasie will be fit soon and another centre half (hopefully van Dijk from Celtic) should tighten things up.
  
  But 3-0 at home to Everton, not cool.
