SHOCKINGLY OFFENSIVE VINTAGE ADVERTS THAT WOULD BE BANNED TODAY...
It's crazy looking back at how offensive some of the old vintage adverts ere. There's no way companies could get away with those ad campaigns these days.

In the Pre-Civil Rights era, major brands like Kellogg's featured sexist slogans, like "The Harder A Wife Works, The Cuter She Looks." While other companies promoted utter bollocks like fizzy drinks being healthy for you baby. 7-Up told moms to add the soda to their babies' milk. The also marketed Camel cigarettes as "the doctor's favorite brand." Yikes!

Here are some of the most offensive adverts I came across, they're pretty horrendous!

Shocking right? It makes me wonder how my future grandkids will view the adverts of today.

RE: SHOCKINGLY OFFENSIVE VINTAGE ADVERTS THAT WOULD BE BANNED TODAY...
To be honest, I don't  find them particularly shocking.  Just a sign of time they came out.

That's a bit like the TV shows about things you could get away with on TV decades ago.  I'm sure there are plenty of things in advertising and TV shows today that would be shocking to someone from when those adverts were OK.

Look at Frankie Boyle.  Wven before his stint as public enemy number one/anti-christ, he would never have been able to get away with a fraction of what he has.  The same can probably be said for a large percentage of modern commedians and commedienes.
You could also add in the straight out gore fest slasher movies with sequels that go on and on and on and on......

Just my personal opinion on the matter.  In some ways we've improved in others we seem to be going backwards.

When any government or church for that matter, undertakes to say to its subjects, "This you may not read, this you must not know," the end result is tyranny and oppression, no matter how holy the motives.
