  I had Sonic 1 on the master system, it was a point of pride with me (and my mates) that we didn't finish it unless we had the maximum number of lives it was possible to get (35 or 36 if memory serves) but i hated sonic 1 on the mega drive. Sonic 2 on the megadrive though was awesome.

  i love my NES i sometimes get it out a play it still cant beat a bit of original Super Mario Bros With Duck Hunt, that damn dog laughing at me grrrr.

  Never use emulators so afraid I'm no help, you can get the consoles cheap enough off ebay if you have the space, you can run the 16 bit ones off a scart. Sonic 2 was the best Sonic. I think a lot of mega drive ports turned out to be better, nintendo was better for the exclusives like mario etc. A good example of the porting issues can be found in mortal kombat, the snes version was a fucking abortion in comparison to the mega drive one.

  Oh the first mortal kombat on the mega drive was fucking amazing! Almost as good as Street Fighter 2.
  I also had a Commodore 64, waaaay back! Some decent games on there (for that time). I loved the fact that you could pop a game(tape) in, go for a walk and once you come back it's just about loaded and ready to go.
  My favourite game was gangster! It came with a remote gun which you could shoot at the screen.

  I love the mortal kombat games, though street fighter always held the crown for me. I also think mk II was better than the original. 3 was a bit of a let down, but it was still a solid game with a great sense of humour.

  To be honest, I Prefer the Retro games to the ones we get these days. I have a ps3, but I hardly ever play it. I reckon if I still had a mega drive that would more in use. It's something about those rubbish graphics and cheesy soundtracks that do it for me, not to mention the nostalgia factor. I'm probably in the minority.

  no ur totally not id rather play retro stuff at times the games where more of a challenge seeing as we never had cheat cartridges or the internet back then it was 3 strikes an ur out.

  I was always a big fan of the Sega systems, Matstersystem & megadrive before defecting to the Sony playstation... It has to be said though that I was always a big fan of Super Mario... such great games to play after a night out clubbing! Still love Sonic the best though!

  Who remembers 'football italia 90' on the mega drive? It was a tournament game that had a birds eye view of the pitch. No injuries, subs or yellow-red cards. Crap graphics but so addictive! the gameplay wasn't too bad actually. You used to get this game as a 3 games in 1 cartridge deal. They just don't make 'em like that anymore...
