  Games, do you rent them, or prefer to own them? Or as a secret third option, bootleging or pirate copies. I'm quite anal, like to have them as my own.

  I usually prefer to buy them, because i like to replay games if they are ones i enjoy, and if it`s games i`m not too sure of but want to try i find them on ebay rather than rent them because if you get it at the right price it works out not much more than renting.

  As I tend to play a lot of sports games I buy them as they don't lose their appeal until the next one in the series comes out. I guess if you play shoot em ups or platforms, those sort of games, renting might be better as you can complete them in the course of a weekend

  Prefer to buy them ' me self ' may as well buy them these days the cheap enuff and the amount money people spend on renting them cud buy a few ' rent will go out the window shorty as well if gaming companys take a leaf out EA's book and make you get online code to access online multiplayer

  Mmmm, I think that's more of a pop at the second hand market than the rentals, but it does effect them. Thing is pricing is relative really, I mean you can get games in 3 for 15 deals and all sorts, but then new games tend to sit around the 40/45 pound mark. With that in mind, with a rental subscription (such as lovefilm), you can get three games at once, for as long as you like for like £20 a month. So if you buy/play a lot you'll be saving a lot of money. But I still prefer to own them so I can go back later and display it all proudly.

  I really don`t agree with that, putting a one use code on a game to play online, it`s a blatant money making tactic, and could seriously lower how many people will buy used games, i don`t think it`s neccesary for them to try and stop people buying used games.

  A dont agree with it me self ' but its all about the money for EA the sick of game shops makin money off their games the wanna cut out the middle man so to speak 'talk about money grabbin bastard lol ' even if u buy it pre owned ea game or any licence by them with online codes u have to ring them and the charge ya for it lol

  Yeah it is not just EA doing it anymore, sony have started doing it with select games aswell, for example i saw uncharted 3 preowned but couldn't buy it because i would of still had to pay for an online pass, and Ubisoft do it too.

  I love to have my own games I never really know why as I always moan about how much they cost me but now I just wait a couple of months and they usually drop down in price for Xmas I got skyrim which cost someone £25 so It wasn't that bad

  i always buy my games i never rent them, because i just cant get past the fact that what if i damage it, i will have to pay them the money anyway, and i have to return it within a certain period of time
