  I can say with almost complete certainty that the quote is from the excellent Misfits, i believe it was said by nathan in the first episode after simon discovered alisha's power and they all see the effect it has on him,
  if i'm mistaken after answering that confidently and even saying what episode and everything i'm going to look very stupid lol.,

  Well luckily you are indeed correct, it is from Misfits. You are right about the episode, character and situation as well. It is a very good show, although I feel that the writing got a bit lazy around the end of the second to the start of the third series.
