  good thread in theory,but how on earth do we know when we get to 140,counting is like being back at school,yes 1word, fantastic,awesome, briil,bad news yes but i wrote at beginning of post,good thread in theory,but how on earth do we know when we get to 140,now that is 54characters,so i dont get point for making just a slight comment .not fair,still love the site though,i must have got a point

  If you need to know how many characters you are writing before you post then use the link that Timm24 provided a few posts up: https://www.javascriptkit.com/script/scr...ount.shtml
  
  It calculates how many characters you have typed out so you don't have to count yourself. Remember to read all prior posts before posting :)

  that has to be the most rambling post i've ever seen on this forum so far! i think the point is you just say what you've got to say and if you get a point, you get a point. don't sit there trying to work out how many characters you've used etc...

  i dunno if will get point for this but im not gonna cry bout it lol anyways end of day this point system is a gift people soo lets jus appreciate the peoples efforts who were behind the idea please people

  Exactly it`s a great idea and a gift to the forum members, people shouldn`t complain about not getting a point for one word posts, and i think most people when making a post tend to do about 140 characters anyway it`s not as much as some people seem to think it is.

  No its not really that much. But people look at the number 140 and just think its a huge number of words. They don't think about it being just the characters, of which most words will have at least four anyway.
