  The writer and creator of Peaky Blinders has just revealed that the show will end in after three more seasons.
  
  
  
  Writer Stephen Knight confirmed during his appearance at the BAFTA TV Awards that the show has been renewed for two more seasons after the upcoming series 5. Stephen said:
   
  

  Quote:My ambition is to make it a story of a family between two wars. I’ve always wanted to end it with the first air raid siren in Birmingham in 1939. It’ll take three more series to reach that point.

  
  Peaky Blinders has been a ratings hit since it first hit our screens in 2013 and that will hopefully continue right up until the end of season 7. When asked if Cillian Murphy would be happy to carry on the role of Tommy Shelby for that many seasons, Cillian said this:

  There have also been talks of a Peaky Blinders movie but that's not a done-deal as of yet. However, there is a musical on the way. While Cillian says he's up for doing a movie, he says he'll pass on the musical. Yeah, I can't see Cillian throwing up jazz-hands somehow.

  never even heard of this series before, not really into the olden days type of series, but will watch if i hear its really good, but since i havent heard of it before or no one talk about it, im guessing its not worth worrying about ?

  I wasn’t even aware the show was still going. I got through seasons 1,2 and I think part of 3 but for some reason didn’t carry on. Those who have made it through season 5, is it still any good and are you excited for season 6?

  I think most shows that aren’t sitcoms are only written to be 1-3 seasons long but once discovered as a bit of a cash cow are forced to write beyond what there’s actually substance for from the original idea. I’m surprised with all of the Peaky Blinders events, bars and merch that they’re even going to let it end after at season 7.

  I'm sure they would like the cash but considering the main character has gone from a Gypsy/Brummie/gangsta to a politician whose main enemy is Oswald Mosley, I'm not surprised it's ending. I would hate to be a writer for that show.
  
  That's just the BBC for you though. Crazy stupid stories. How many people get murdered on Eastenders per week?

  It's a shame it's coming to an end, but most TV dramas end after about five seasons. I've really enjoyed the series so far, but it wasn't as good as it used to be. Last season was a bit hit and miss. Also with Aunt Peggy passing away in real life, I guess it is better that they end it now. They've had some great actors appear in the series. Tom Hardy and Sam Neill were amazing. Due to Tommy being a former WWI soldier, the series might end at the start of WWII. Moseley might be the secondary protagonist this season, and Tommy's cousin and Anja Taylor Joy might be the main villains.
