  Still had fun out there. Made some new mates but have to lie down a lot. Probably won’t be able to work for a while still.

  Sorry to hear you got injured during your Thailand holiday.  How did it happen? Did you fall?
  
  If you have fractured a vertebrae at the base of the spine that sounds pretty serious. My sister did that last year and had to spend 4 months in a surgical corset until it healed. I hope your injury isn't that bad.

  I sat down on a step. A stupid injury. Still in pain and can’t work.

  Often it is the silliest of things that cause some of the worst injuries. My sister missed the last step on her stairs and fell on her lounge carpet and broke her back. Ended up wearing a medical corset for 4 months from something seemingly so innocuous.
  
  At least I got hit by a car whilst walking to give me a limp, which seems a bit over the top just to get a twisted ankle.

  I managed a very similar thing a few years ago Just outside my flat I walked across the road tripped on nothing and landed in hospital with a broken hip No sooner than getting out of hospital I was rushed back in with a DVT (deep vein thrombosis) was out of action for a long time These things happen in a second with huge conseqences

  Just got back from the doctors and it’s bruised. So pain killers and rest. No time frame. Going to have to sign On
