North Carolina restaurent serves up a tarantula-topped burger

Burgers have come a long way in recent years. You used to be able to order a cheeseburger or a bacon burger and that was about it. Good simple food. But now burgers seem to come piled high with 12 patties, gruyere cheese, parma ham, aoli and a whole bunch of other things. The world's gone mad.



One restaurant decided to take things a bit further and serve up one of the most frightening burgers I've ever seen. Bull City Burger in North Carolina has been turning stomachs recently with their new tarantula burger. Yup, a burger topped with an actual hairy spider. People are saying say it tasteslike crab but with a slightly more metallic taste.



Apparently not just anyone can stroll in and buy a tarantula burger. People interested in tasting it must enter a raffle at the price of $30 just to see if their name gets drawn. For those who manage to chow down on all 8 legs, they'll bag themselves a t-shirt. So far four people have eaten the entire spider and won a t-shirt. Hmm, sounds like a slightly naff prize for eating a giant spider. I'll pass!
