  That's going to be £70m he's paid out to sacked managers now. And I thought he was spposed to be a businessman!
  
  Chelsea have been pretty poor recently though. 1 win, 3 draws and 4 defeats in the last 8 games really isn't good enough, so I can understand him anting to shake it up now before the season is a total write off.

  Maybe, but the abruptness of it all cannot be good for the players morale. If they are not top of the league then they know that the manager is going to get changed within a few months at most. No stable tactical vision or training.

  Its a big decision to get rid of Matteo already although it was obvious did'nt really want him from the start. What he needs to realise is if he wants Chesea to play the type of football he wants then he needs to give a manager time which he does'nt seem to want to do. If Beniez does'nt get some good results early then the fans will go crazy as they don't liked[/align] him already.

  Lol he gave the job to Rafa Benitez. If you'd polled all the Chelsea supporters he would be the last person on the list, didn't trust harry Redknapp to do the job? Abramovich really just does not give one solitary fuck... I respect that.

  The problem is exactly what ken12 is saying, Abramovich just does not give the managers any time to settle in. He expects them to arrive and have all the players fully understanding the tactics of that manager and winning 100% of the time within a few weeks. Benitez will be gone soon enough and with a massive payout I'm sure.

  It made me smile when they now call Benitez the 'interim' manager. Haven't they all been interim lately!!!
  Also quoted as saying until the end of the season; perhaps with a view to become permanent if things work out?
  If that is this case then I see no difference to if he (Abramovich) had kept RDM, if he thinks Benitez is gonna come in and they magically start winning everything then his head is in the clouds, or perhaps he just likes to wield his power, I'm the boss, win or be gone.. Not really the way to control a club, if he had any footballing knowledge at all, he would understand that teams go up and down in cycles, that 'star' players lose their edge eventually.. Money can buy you loads (as he has shown) but not eternal success.

  Dusnt suprise me in the least, Abramo got to be an olygark by ripping off the Russian people an just not givin a fuck about them, peasants! hes a ruthless bastard who likes to show of his toys..... Yachts, Cars, Women, Chelsea! He made Billions in jut a few years so why shoud he wait for success next season when he can go an buy it this season. Anyway i look forward to seeing Raffa back on MOTD sayin ''qwee did a good game''

  I,m a Chelsea fan and like all chelsea fans i liked Roberto Di Matteo and he was doing good regardless of the poor form of late. It's rediculous that a manager can win the champions league and FA cup and still get sacked, and out of all people Benetez... REALLY
