  i enjoyed the film, whilst had there been more backstory it would have flowed better as to why they were fighting, its like in civil war it was more impactful why Cap and Iron Man were fighting because of character development, they didnt really show as much between Batman and Superman, but maybe this version of the film will put that in...

  I don't see the point of different film cuts for films that are set in a film universe with more films to come. Inevitably there comes a problem with later films, either the lesser seen home release cut is canon (at which point large chunks of the audience haven't seen the expanded events that are now being referenced when it comes up after) or the theatrical cut is still the only one that's canon and the ultimate cut is basically pointless... And honestly if the scenes were that important or interesting they wouldn't have been cut in the first place.

  Downloaded and watched the 'Ultimate edition' of the film with the family yesterday. Coming in at 3 hours with supposedly 30 minutes of extra footage I was hang for more people, well, everything. While I still enjoyed the film in much the same vain as the theatrical release (namely the 2nd half of the film), this ultimate version doesn't really improve the film. No expansion on the action just the chatty bits so it takes even longer to get to the juicy stuff. While I can't criticise the extra footage (which largely deals with smaller characters and a more expansive look by Clark into batman antics). There is a potential nod to potentially the villain from justice league but that remains to be seen.
