  As in games that you never saw why they go so much praise or conversely games that you thought never got rated as highly as you thought they should have been.
  
  For me and i know there are many that will think i`m mental for saying this, but i never saw and still can`t see what makes Halo so popular, i`ve never seen anything in it that was all that original or wasn`t done just as well in any other game, feel free to hate me for this one lol.
  
  And underrated i would say the Punisher game they released for the ps2, i really liked that game and was fun torturing the criminals ( i probably sound mental lol)

  I agree that punisher was an overlooked game, it really did kick-ass!. i would have to say either skull monkeys or colony wars on the playstation were the 2 most underrated games for me personally.

  Over rated - it's gotta be call of duty. Great games if short, but nowhere near as good as people paint them to be! As for underrated, the underworld games, okami or any wii game people refuse to play because it's on the wii. Be interested to hear. What others have!

  overrated:
  Halo.
  Call of Duty- All the new ones are very similar, yet people religiously purchase them.
  Battlefied3 - Yes, it has nice graphics, but it's lacking game-play drastically, too much "killed from nowhere" shit.
  
  underrated:
  Kayne and Lynch 1 - Was just such a fun co-op campaign, although a lot of people seem to say its awful.
  
  
  I still religiously play Counter-Strike 1.6, so I can hardly be considered a reliable source of information for up-to-date games :)

  I do like the Call of Duty games but i will admit they are overrated, there are shooting games that are just as good that don`t get the same attention, i`m suprised to see someone actually agreeing with me on Halo being overrated thought i would be on my own on that one to be honest.

  Counterstrike brings back memories, what a great game! So difficult to get good at for me, because my friends started playing it long before I did! Very technically well done and just an excellent multiplayer experience.

  I have to defend Halo here seeing as it is a truly magnificent game, ill admit they can get quite long and almost boring at certain times but the ending in all the games pays off for the entire game, Halo 1 & 3 have to be the greatest endings of all time. The multiplayer im not a big fan of but it is completely different to the same fps rubbish we see now a days (COD, Battlefield etc). All in all Halo is a completely new and amazing game and is not overrated to me.
  
  Underrated games:
  The Simpsons Hit & Run (PS2)- Had so much fun playing this years ago, its like GTA but with Simpsons !

  Overrated Games:
  Minecraft- Am I the only one who doesn't see the appeal to it, you just place blocks ??

  I agree with halo being fantastic, one thing though, I don't think they're too long. CoD's lazy developers have people thinking 6 hours is average for a game, for me 6 hours is a fucking rip off! Since the advent of save games I think anything that can realistically be completed in one sitting is balls.

  overrated games i would say will have to be uncharted i dont think its that good, and also final fantasy its another game it looks pretty shit and i dont think its a very good game

  Yeah i do enjoy the Call of Duty games but they`re ridiculously short, i know you can`t string out a story driven shooting game for too long but come on, they could make it a little longer it wouldn`t be that hard.
  i think the games you get the most longevity out of is RPG`S due to the nature of the gameplay.
