  To be honest I think most of the new 2014 movies are shit, i mean there are some exceptions but not many. the reason why i think this is because, there are so many big companies trying to rush movies and want revenue by throwing in rubbish actors with shit movies. I personally believe i can act better then quite a few of the new actors. this is how bad it has become, its not just the bad acting, its also no one has an original movie plan. a lot of them now are very similar or sequels and become terrible.

  For the past few years movies have been declining in quality. Anymore it seems that many of the movies made are sequels or comic book based; which can be fine if well written and acted. All movie studios seem to want to make are movies for people with short attention spans. Anything that does not require the audience to think for more than a few seconds and that has a lot of explosions. There are always a few exceptions which seem to come out at the end of the year but even those are not as well written as they have been in the past.

  that is exactly what i am talking about robo! this just pisses me off that they don't seem to be even trying. I don't even know what to watch with my girlfriend on a night in or a night out cause theres literally nothing good to watch anymore. as for scottyrampant, i totally understand where you are coming from, its unbelievable how they think we would just sit and watch those sit, fine i mean they might be aiming it at the younger generations but come on, we want something good as well!

  I could not agree more. Personally I am bored of movies of late for those very reason's, but it's not just 2014, they have been producing shit movies for year's.

  This argument, along with music, tv, books and whatever other medium out there is complete bollocks. You look back on previous years media as better because people tend to not remember the bad ones. Were there classics released in the 50's/60's/70's etc? Yes. Were there shit films released in the 50's/60's/70's etc? Also yes. The same applies to the present day, you just remember the bad more because you're currently living it.

  I disagree potato, i mean i am not bias to the fact that there are some good films right now but if you weight the bad movies from 2012 to 2013/2014, 2013 and 2014 has a lot more bullshit x10 -.-. i can just pick a few trailers now and you can see how shit it is. to be honest, i dont even have to pick it, if you just type in 2014 movies, you can see the new movies and compare it to 2012, its the same. They aren't coming out with new movies, they are remaking movies which have already been done before but with new and shitty actors -.-

  There has always been shitty movies. The argument that films have been declining in quality has probably been made every year since the birth of film. If you can't find good films, you're just not looking hard enough. I would say that it's getting harder for smaller films to get distributed in cinemas, but they're available on things like netflix in no time. I'd reccomend some films, but I have no idea what your tastes are. If you can't find anything, broaden your horizons. Look at films from other countries. Iran is currently in the midst of a film revolution similar to the french new wave of the 60s. If that's not your thing, you're definitely missing out, but at the very worst I'm sure there are films you haven't seen from other years.

  ye its getting a little weak but u do get some good ones come out like captain phillips and pacific rim,but alot more shit movies then good ones these days your right,cant wait for that jurasic park 4 tho

  I disagree, but obviously it depends on what you like, i'm a big comic fan so i like most of the comic films that are out over the years (except for the shit ones obviously), and there have been some pretty good horror films past few years as well and Godzilla was good.
  And technically no idea is original, because even films considered to be original have taken inspiration from other films, could do with there being less remakes though.
