  Anyone else looking forward to the next game in the series?
  I've always liked the Metal Gear games, starting with metal gear solid on psone which i actually still have now.
  Even the last one was very good despite the mammoth cutscenes which seemed to go on forever at times.

  i played the original and then the snakeeater one. i found the later very addictive and entertaining, i think with improved graphics on games nowadays and the sheer size that games are that on console that a new metal gear solid would be awesome, i agree with the cut scenes, i think one was an hour long on one of the games, its good if you have the time but i usually like skipping cutscenes.

  Well Metal Gear Solid 4 was the last one on PS3 and that was a great looking game and was good to play, it just had the growing problem of cutscenes in Metal Gear games getting longer in every new edition, it would be improved if someone could convince Hideo Kojami to cut some of the unnecesary parts occasionaly.
  They are making another Metal Gear Solid Rising.

  I can beat that for retro, I played the original metal gear on the NES, it was fantastic! Hideo kojima's love of film's and pastische of them can unfortunately go way overboard, but the gameplay is always aptly solid. Am looking forward to revengeance on the xbox, anyone else playing the HD collection? And perhaps wondering why they put peacemaker in and not the first MGS?

  Never played the original one, yeah he clearly loves film and with some of the cutscenes they work, but it`s those times when he really should of brought someone else in to edit them, agree totally though the gameplay is always great.
  i don`t like the title Revengeance, sounds silly to me lol, i think they didn`t use the first MGS was because that would be harder to make HD due to it`s age.

  Yeah I agree on all counts. revenge and vengeance are derivitives, so mixing them is like calling a game "rememory". Stupid. Think it's going to star raiden as well and I'm not sure how I feel about that, as he was such an unlikable bastard. As well, gameplay will be ace.

  It`s just a bizzare title isn`t it, makes you wonder what they are thinking.
  I don`t mind Raiden as a character, i think the thing that turned some people against Raiden was the fact that when people bought Sons of liberty the game was shown and advertised around snake and the cover was snake, probably a dissapointment to people expecting Snake who you only got one level as snake but instead got a totally different character.

  Yeah, it was a real bait and switch. Mind you, I welcome them doing another raiden story now, as mgs 4 had snake looking so old and the landscape of the game had changed so much that to go much further into snake's story is going to be difficult. Though a remake based on the story of the first two games on the NES would be a winner.

  I have no problem with Raiden personally, i quickly got over the initial annoyance of the fact that they basically pretended a game was about Snake and then had it about a totally new character, plus it will be interesting to play as a Ninja for once in mgs.
  I would buy a remake of the first two games, would be good to see that part of the story retold with new technology/gameplay.

  It took me ages to get because no high street shops had it! HMV now stock it, but online is usually the way to go. I must say the HD collection is excellent, partly because I bought 2 and 3 more or less as soon as they came out, so I've never play the substance/subsistance versions.
