  I`m really looking forward to the Avengers, practically turned about a page on a 2012 film thread on this forum into an Avengers trailer page lol (still not made on the Assemble bit seems a pointless addition to the title really)
  the Marvel made films have been my favourite comic films made so far, thought all of them were brilliant, and this looks to even better, strong chance on it being my favourite film of the year.

  going by the trailers its got the potential to be the greatest comic to film adaptation to date,so cant wait for this :)

  Totally agree, it could easily be the best comic to fiom adaption, it even looks like Black Widow is a more fleshed out character than in Iron Man 2 (not that i didn't like the character in Iron Man 2) maybe i'm biased but i expect nothing less than amazing from Joss Whedon, he hasn't really made anything yet i didn't like.

  im really hoping all this hype about the film is true and not another let down. but by the looks of the trailer its going to be an epic film does any body know what the assemble bit is about just seems like they couldn't think of what to call all of them getting together.

  it's pretty straight forward where the assemble bit comes from, it's what nick furry says to get the team together, a bit like the call to arms for the team.
  
  but it is odd they called the film that, just "the avengers" would've been better in my opinion

  In the comics i think Cap also said Avengers Assemble as a sort command to fall in when neccesary (only read a select handfull of comics so i'm not sure, i'm curious whether Cap issues any such commands in the film though.)
  I find the title a little odd as well, and as far as i'm aware it's just called The Avengers everywhere else, only reason i can think of is there was the old series the Avengers and a subsequent film made from that (which bombed) maybe it's to avoid being connected to that.

  the other thing that makes me think this will be a great film, is the interview i read with joss where he said the film is about the team as a whole, rather than focusing on any one particular character which i was worried about as in one of the trailers it looked really cap heavy and i wasn't the biggest fan of the cap film, or captain america as a character really.
  
  i think it might still be told from his point of view but it's not like it's a captain america film that just has the others in it which is what i was worried it might be. think i might have to go see it this weekend

  Based on interviews with Joss i took it as it uses Cap`s point of view (which makes sense really his character needs the most introduction into modern time) but from a few reviews i`ve read it`s balanced very well all the characters have their moments.
  I would like to ask people though not to post any spoilers or anything on this thread if they watch it when it`s first out (i`m not going to be able to watch straight away and don`t want it spoiled)

  Seeing as it's not out until Thursday I would be surprised if you did see it before then :O
