  I'd like to see what van Gaal could do with Nani if he chooses to stay next year. If he can get half the transformation of Young/Fellaini out of him then we could have a very, very special player on our hands.

  It looks like Van Gaal really has united playing his type of football now, in terms of Nani he's playing excellent at the moment for sporting lisbon but i doubt he'll be able to replicate that for united purely down to i don't think he will start. He needs to be playing every game to really show the form and plus the prem is a lot tougher the portugal

  Yeah, but the thing to remember with di Maria is that he was a beast for the first 5 or so games and then he got that injury (against West Ham?) and he hasn't been the same since.

  Eh? You say this as if Nani hasn't played better at United than he is now with Sporting. Nani of around 2010 was one of, if not the best wingers in the league. Unfortunately for him (and United) he couldn't keep it going and from 2012 onwards he went back to being incredibly inconsistant which lead to him becoming less and less confident which really showed last year in particular. That's what excites me a bit about Nani right now is that his loan to sporting seems to have worked wonders for him and he now has his confidence back with performances to match.
  
  I like the idea of being able to switch between:
  
  Mata - Rooney - Young
  
  and
  
  Nani - Rooney - di Maria
  
  and of course throw Januzaj in there for good measure :P
  
  I think keeping him will all come down to whether we sign Depay or not though.

  Awesome performance from united against city but obvs a lot of people expected it considering the dreadful run citys on. somehow LVGs got fellaini becoming an absolute force in that united eleven. I think that would be a big decision to bring back nani considering the form young and di maria are in and how happy nani is at sporting but depends on how hungry he is to compete. gonna be an interested finish thats for sure
